Hello Clarendon Families,

Our Clarendon Annual Holiday Food Drive is on! From now until Friday December 12th, let's come together to support the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank and help end hunger right here in our city. Food insecurity is an ongoing problem in our community. The SF Marin Foodbank estimates that approximately 55,000 families per week rely on their organization for food! As the holidays are fast approaching, we can reflect on how fortunate so many of us are and we can share with those who are less fortunate. Every $1.00 provides two healthy meals for families in need.

There are multiple ways that you can help:

Want to donate food instead? Bring your donation of non-perishable foods to the food bins in the hallway at school. Please note that our school is only collecting canned goods. The most needed foods are:
tuna & other canned meat
nut butters
low sodium canned soups, chilis, and stews
canned beans
canned fruits and vegetables

Last year, our food drive put a dent in ending hunger — let’s go even bigger this year with online donations and other acts of generosity. We will continue to donate the items to the Food Bank as the bin fills. Please give what you can! Our Food Drive will end on December 12th. Please note that our school is only collecting CANNED items. This CalFresh Emergency Grocery Card program will help people buy healthy food and reduce financial stress during this time. Welcome all new families to Clarendon! Please join us for our first new family playdate on Sunday, May 4, 2-4p at Douglass playground! This is an opportunity to meet incoming families and ask questions to current Clarendon families. Current families with incoming TK and Kindergarten students are also encouraged to attend!

Delayed post. At the beginning of the month, our PAC hosted an ice cream social. Of course it fell on the day AFTER our heat wave.

Walkathon, as usual, was a hit!

It was a busy week. In preparation for the new school year, some of the leads from the auction, welcome, concert, hospitality, and community arts and science committee met up for a summer cleaning of room/closet 10. Seriously, we have the best community! We are ready for you 2024/2025 school year!

First the fun and then came the sun. What a great turnout! Thanks to all the families that came to help. Special thanks to our amazing PE teacher Marc who got the kiddos running around and meeting new classmates
