Learn how your voice works, and build healthy techniques through online weekly sessions

Still did it even past the golden hour.

As we begin to tackle the week ahead, let’s focus on practicing how to reframe that mindset 💪🏻

Instead of....

🎯Running away from challenges to avoid facing failure and frustration, try seeing them as a stepping stone to get you closer to your goals!

🥇Feeling demotivated by others’ talent by comparing yourself to them, try using their talent as inspiration. Remember: everyone’s journey is different, so enjoy yours!

📝Feeling defeated by critique, try using it as a learning opportunity! Ask yourself “How can I grow from this and what can I focus on working on?”

✊🏻Seeing effort as a sign that you lack talent because you need to try harder, try seeing it as a key for growth. Regardless of level, all singers need to practice and put in the effort to improve. The harder you work, the better the results !

Reframing negative thoughts can be hard, but we believe in you! Have a great Sunday❤️

✨The Power/Source/Filter model✨

During our sessions, we often explain how the voice works and about singing techniques through this model.

Simply speaking, how does it work?

⚡️POWER: When you exhale as you sing, the air (energy) from your lungs flows upwards.

🪴SOURCE: On the way out, the air interacts with the vocal folds. This causes them to vibrate and create sound!

🗣FILTER: This sound travels through the spaces in your upper vocal tract, creating tone.

Learning to sing is focusing on mastering each of these components, and combining them altogether to be used efficiently!

🗣Psychology of Performance:
Whether you’re preparing to perform in front of an audience or simply singing in your room, setting up the body and mind can make a world of a difference!

🧠Mind: Calm your mind, and focus on relating to the lyrics and the message that the song is trying to convey, instead of mastering it (Think about the emotions and the story!)
✊🏻Body: Take deep breaths to help align that power/source interaction! Remember to maintain good posture and stretch to let go of any areas of tension.

We often get so used to noticing our flaws, that it’s easier to be critical of ourselves instead of loving and embracing our uniqueness!

Today, we challenge you to practice some self praise ❤️ Learning to shift that mindset into focusing on the good is something that is built over time (just like a muscle!) So the more you do it, the easier it gets 💪🏻
