🔥 Your donation has 2x the impact right now.
This summer, we are raising $30,000 by July 31st to strengthen and expand hands-on educational programs through curriculum development and scholarships for all participants.
This campaign will support dedicated development time for staff and teaching artists to deepen our core curriculum, create innovative specialty workshops, and expand advanced learning opportunities for our community. Areas of focus include alchemy and physics within glassmaking, engineering and innovation in sculptural processes, contemporary mold-making and casting processes, and emerging technologies shaping the future of the field.
By investing in curriculum development, we are not only creating access for new participants, we are building stronger pathways for intermediate and advanced artists to continue learning, experimenting, and growing within the medium.
By investing in curriculum development today, we are shaping the future of glass education tomorrow.

Thanks to a generous $5,000 matching gift, every donation will be doubled until the match is met.

Help us meet the match. Link in bio to donate.

Learn how to sculpt eyes with Instructor Gwynovear Gillespie!

In this 3 day workshop you will learn how to construct the actual components of the eyeball itself (Sclera, Iris, Pupil, and Cornea) as well as how to give the eyes you make a home. You can make it into a pendant or attach it to another object.

Each day will focus on new steps and techniques that will build on each other so by the end you will feel comfortable to continue to make eyes on your own. Whether you want to take this class for eyes specifically or sculpting tips both will be accommodated.

Big things are happening at Public Glass!
We're officially in shut down. Last Sunday our community gathered to say goodbye to our old furnace and share our memories of it. This week we started to prepare the studio to take apart the old furnace and install our brand new one!

This is a HUGE moment for our studio, and it would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community and donors. You made this happen. 🙏

Stay tuned for more shutdown updates and the official unveiling of our brand new furnace — a milestone moment for Public Glass and everyone who made it possible. 🔥🎉

Events like Hot Glass Cold Beer are more than demos-they’re a window into how glass art actually happens. You get to see the decision-making in real time, the teamwork, the problem-solving, and the skill it takes to create in the hot shop. It’s fast, physical, and a little unpredictable-in the best way. This clip is from Asher Holman’s demo from January. Asher brought great energy to the shop. we’re grateful to have artists like him sharing their process with us! Stay tuned to hear about the next HGCB.

Hot Glass Cold Beer Recap 🍻🔥

What a night. Dan Hoffman in the flameshop and Elias Hansen in the hot shop brought the studio to life with incredible demos and a whole lot of heat.

Hot Glass Cold Beer is one of our favorite ways to share what makes Public Glass special—live glass, handmade cups, good music, cold drinks, and a studio full of people connecting around the magic of glass. We loved seeing everyone pick out their cups, gather around the demos, and hang out in the hot shop together. That community energy is what makes these nights what they are.

Big love to DJ K-Digz for keeping the energy high all night, and Tato for the food that kept everyone fueled.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a good one. If you missed this one, don’t worry—we’re doing it again in July. 🔥
