“Six Months in Dogpatch 003” by Brian Madden, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

This piece consists of an ephemeral mixture of effects from Brian Madden’s sculpture creation process, reimagined as a textural artwork that nods to abstract landscape photography.

The result of the first half-year of marble sculpture practice in Brian Madden’s Dogpatch, San Francisco studio (from June to December 2021), the painting is an unexpected array of natural stone dust and rust on a recycled plastic drop cloth from beneath Brian’s boots.

By pausing to dismantle and reframe a by-product of his sculpture process as the artwork itself, Brian has opened a window with a view of an abstract landscape with its own stories to tell.

Brian Madden is a curiosity-led artist and designer who uses natural stone and remnant artifacts to capture and celebrate moments, memories, and the passage of time. Bringing a collaborative approach to his creative process, Brian’s artistic practice is further informed by his experience as an industrial and spatial designer creating story-driven objects and experiences for global brands like EA Sports, NFL, NFLPA and Nike.

“There Are No Final Victories” by Jason Jägel, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

Jason’s work is densely packed with raw storytelling elements, his rich color palettes bringing distinctive worlds to life for his whimsical characters to inhabit. His original piece created for Visual Field functions as both an inspired, subversive commentary on the sport and a call-to-action protest poster, weaving together quotes and poetry to turn savvy references into bold statements. We were honored to display this work and appreciated him opening a window into his studio practice and process for us.

Jason Jägel is a painter, educator, and commissioned public artist. He received an MFA from Stanford University in 2002. His work is in many public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

“P.R. Bimmer” / “DTMF Bimmer” by Jackie Brown, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

Jackie’s work is phenomenal and we were honored to show two of her signature hand painted woodcut Bimmers dedicated to Bad Bunny & Puerto Rico. In addition to possessing a tremendous amount of talent, Jackie is simply a joy to work with, and we’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to collaborate on a project. Keep an eye out for her online shop opening soon as well!

Jackie Brown is a multidisciplinary creative based in San Francisco. Her work explores bold, graphic symbols and patterns, drawing inspiration from culture, nostalgia, and everyday moments.

“Football is a Drama” by Jezrael Gandara, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

Jezrael masterfully transformed a desk in our studio into an installation of an editor’s work station, showing a timelapse of his Premiere process on one monitor and his finished film “Football is a Drama” beside it. To fill out the scene, he brought in merchandise he’d received during his time working with the , including a jacket and Latino Heritage Month hat that we learned was coincidentally designed by – an artist also on the bill for the show whose work we then displayed on the facing wall to incorporate into the editor’s creative environment.

To continue exploring Jezrael’s filmmaking – with a glimpse into our studio’s work – check out “Water and Stone,” released around this time last year at narrativa.agency/impact.

Jezrael Gandara, a filmmaker and cinematographer from El Paso, TX, now based in the Bay Area, draws inspiration from his Mexican American upbringing and diverse surroundings, creating work that blends visual poetry with deep explorations of culture, race, and identity. Jezrael is committed to crafting stories that resonate emotionally and aesthetically, he aims to deliver cinematic experiences that are both beautiful and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.

“John Madden” by Jon Stich, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

Jon is a stellar artist with an uncanny ability to capture the essence of his subjects. His painting of John Madden as head coach of the Oakland Raiders was originally commissioned by the NFL for their Los Angeles headquarters, where a 10 foot high reproduction exists as part of a large scale mural.

Since age nine, Jon Stich has been creating pictures, with his earliest works found on the backs of Red Lobster menus. Although (he claims) those were some of his strongest pieces, he still thinks the best is yet to come. He lives and works in San Francisco.

“Color/Field” by Erin Fong, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

Erin had a big week – she installed 60 unique, colorful letterpress prints she hand-crafted in her studio featuring iconic quotes from every Super Bowl for the Fan Experience at the Moscone Center, sat for multiple interviews on local TV, presented her work at the , and attended Super Bowl LX, where her commissioned art was on the game day programs, the tickets, and even on the Jumbotron. It’s been a joy to follow Erin’s triumphant and fun-filled journey – as said, her artwork “isn’t just for the game, it’s for everyone.”

In the midst of her big moment, she presented this mesmerizing work at “Visual Field,” and we so appreciated having her vibrancy in the studio – we recommend checking out her full interview with and following and to see what she manifests next.

Erin Fong is a Bay Area-based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the psychological and emotional impact of color. Color is a deeply personal experience that connects her to emotions, memories, and environments. Drawing from her personal experience as a neurodivergent individual, Erin explores how vibrant hues can alter moods by stimulating dopamine production, a neurotransmitter crucial for well-being. She intentionally infuses color into the world to foster a greater sense of well-being—both for herself and the community at large. Through her artistic use of color, Fong aims to evoke joy, examine perception, and document the everyday.

“Imprint of a Championship Ring” by Nibha Akireddy, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

While curating the show, we discovered Nibha’s stunning compositions that pull from the stories she encounters through her communities and experiences across engineering, art, and everyday art forms – such as tattooing, sport, textile, jewelry, and food.

We were honored that, between showings with and , she was able to paint and display this original work, exploring evocative themes of masculinity, legacy, and majesty through her distinct and affecting lens. Keep an eye out – Nibha is making waves, and we’re so excited to witness her journey.

Nibha Akireddy is a Bay Area-raised, San Francisco-based artist. She creates figurative paintings that explore the body as a vessel for storytelling, drawing connections between body and land; muscle and iron; and gentleness and strength.

“The Stick” by Emmanuel David Blackwell III, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

So much respect to Emmanuel for making this beautiful 35mm print and hand painting the frame to match Candlestick’s iconic seat colors, while simultaneously organizing his incredible solo exhibition “Be Good…” – which is currently on view until its closing this upcoming Sunday – and a packed calendar of accompanying community programming.

Emmanuel’s personal connection to Candlestick and this scene in particular deeply moved us, as he recounted the highs and lows of his upbringing within these surroundings and related these vicissitudes to the experience of sports fandom. We encourage you to attend his Artist Talk at the “Be Good…” closing (2pm - 5pm) this Sunday, 3/15 as he reflects on the concepts, inspirations, and intentions behind his work.

Emmanuel David Blackwell III is a multidisciplinary photographer and 2022 & 2025 San Francisco Arts Commission Arts Impact Endowment grantee whose practice bridges image-making and organizing. An artist-organizer, he uses photography not only to create images, but to build infrastructure for memory, access, and community. His work is deeply rooted in lived experience—documenting San Francisco as both archive and proving ground—where sustainability, care, and self-determination function as mediums alongside film.

In 2016, Emmanuel founded SWAP FILM, a community-supported analog photography lab and unlimited 35mm black-and-white film subscription service that has served over 300 creatives since its inception.

“Shake ‘Em” and “Last Season in Oakland” by Squint, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

Squint has shown steadfast support to the studio over the years and was the first person we called after deciding to host a group show. Without a moment of hesitation, he said he was on board, giving us a boost of confidence and the momentum to charge ahead. A longtime documentarian of some of the Bay Area’s most legendary athletes, Squint has spent years capturing Marshawn Lynch on and off the field throughout his career. For the show, he selected images from two particularly poignant moments of competing as an Oakland Raider.

Khristopher “Squint” Sandifer is an award-winning Bay Area native film director and photographer with a passion for cinematic storytelling. A true “Visual Composer,” he blends film, photography, and branding to transform ideas into bold, compelling visual narratives. His work is driven by a distinct style that creates imagery that is both cinematic and unforgettable.

“Between the Lines: An Appreciation of the Bay’s Sports History” by Brandon Tam, presented at our group exhibition “Visual Field” during Super Bowl LX week.

We’re incredibly grateful to Brandon for his vibrant and imaginative infusion of creative energy to the show. He returned to the studio again and again with new additions: his framed sketchbooks (one spinning on a lazy Susan to depict Candlestick Park’s transformation into Levi’s Stadium), salvaged stadium seats (paired serendipitously with ’s piece), and a treasure trove of objects he designed with the 49ers – a luchador mask from the team’s game at Estadio Azteca in CDMX, a “Crucial Catch” painted football commemorating his victory over cancer, a pennant showcasing his “Faithful to the Bay” and 75th anniversary design, and creative department poster to complement installation.

He also brought out his whole community of friends and family, good bites for the crew, and boundless warmth and positivity.

Brandon Tam is an artist born and raised in the Bay Area and former Senior Designer for the San Francisco 49ers, now working as a freelance illustrator and designer. He carries a sketchbook everywhere he goes and discovered a passion for plein air sketching, especially at live sporting events. This practice has given him a new view to the game he loves as well as a deeper appreciation for what makes each sporting venue special.
