As part of the architectural design process, a site walk is an important first step to understanding the context of a project. Last Saturday, our Bay Area students toured their thesis project site, located in Oakland, while on Sunday our New York students visited their site in Queens.

Each group learned first-hand what buildings are located around their site, how do people currently interact with the site and what are some unique characteristics of the site to consider when designing. Looking forward to seeing what our students come up with in the following weeks!

Entering architecture school can seem like a daunting experience, but the reward in getting a formal education can open so many creative doors in your future. Our high school students had the opportunity to chat with Frank, Catherine and Daquan—current architecture university students—listening to their experiences to date. As Spring continues to bloom flowers and life, at studioWRNS it has brought upon new projects and ideas! 💡 We kicked-off a new Course B called “This is Architecture” with returning students designing a parklet for .oak (more info coming soon!) and also started a new series of workshops for middle school students called “What is Architecture?”. Special thanks to Eoydc for being our first venue! We are so excited for what’s to come in Summer 2023, stay tuned! ✨
