Little Learners, BIG Discoveries! 🎨❤️🐞

Our Early Preschool - Pre-K students are learning through hands-on exploration, creativity, and plenty of fun!

In Curriculum Connection, Pre-K student Kai dives into the circulatory system with a creative craft while discovering how the heart and blood vessels work together.

In Preschool Smart Circle, Sofia and Finn make letter recognition fun with an adorable ladybug game!

And in Early Preschool, our young artists explore The Snail, inspired by the colorful, playful artwork of Henri Matisse.

From hearts to ladybugs to masterpieces, every day brings a new opportunity to learn, create, and grow!

1. What is your name and current position/classroom?
Yenis Cotua de Galindo. I’m the PK teacher.

2. How long have you been working in early childhood education?
More than 25 years!

3. How long have you been with Stratford?
This will be my 8th year at Stratford.

4. What inspired you to become a teacher?
Watching my father teach Chemistry at the University in Colombia.

5. What is your favorite thing about working with young children?
Their enthusiasm, curiosity, affection, honesty, and imagination.

6. What do you love most about teaching at Stratford Parkside?
Teamwork!

7. What do you hope children gain from being in your classroom?
I hope they will be prepared not only academically, but also with deep self-confidence and empathy for others.

8. How would you describe your teaching style in three words?
Adaptable: I always adapt activities to meet my students’ needs.
Stimulating: I plan fun, hands-on activities to keep my students engaged in learning.
Student-centered: I always plan lessons based on my students’ interests and needs.

Almost one month in and our littlest learners are back in action!

From practicing early writing skills ✏️ and discovering the magic of stories 📚 to creating colorful artwork 🎨 and exploring the world around them, our Early Preschool through Pre-K students are learning, growing, and having fun every step of the way!

Big curiosity. Little learners. Endless possibilities!
