Job description
About Just Kids Preschool: We are a startup preschool program located in the Richmond District. We strive to exceed standard learning expectations. We are an open ended, fun and caring preschool to help children grow, learn and build self confidence through play.

Job Responsibilities:

The Lead Preschool teacher:

*Plans and implements curriculum for the preschool, works with the Director, parents, teachers and children to provide excellence in service, instruction and communication

*Follows preschool policies and procedures. Attends all training, staff meetings and other

*Preschool functions

*Other duties as assigned

* substitute as director when needed

The major areas of responsibility include:

*Must be highly motivated

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*Excellent leadership skills Good organizational skills

*An understanding of preschool curriculum and childhood development

*Must have a strong desire to work with children

*Must have a good understanding of early childhood programs (2 - 5 year olds)

* A problem solver who has demonstrated an ability to deliver both positive and difficult messages to parents and staff with compassion, understanding and firmness.

* Passionate to work with children

Requirements:

* AA Degree in ECE/CD or AA Degree in Social Science w/24 ECE/CD units or CA Teacher's permit

* Two years of teaching experience with young children

* Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

* Bilingual in Chinese (MANDARIN OR CANTONESE) and English

* CPR/ First aid certified

Job Type: Full-time

COVID-19 considerations:

All adults and children are required to wear masks; common surfaces are sanitized regularly; change of indoor shoes when entering

Assistant Teachers Qualifications:

BA or be enrolled in a university program leading to a BA, minimum of 6 ECE credits

Experience with young children preferred including child care, preschool, or summer camp

Fluent in Mandarin or Cantonese

CPR/First aid certified

Duties:

Being able to lift up to 50lbs

Supervising children

Assisting lead teachers in activities

Cleaning and keeping the classroom clean
