Life Pacific University has named worship leader, recording artist and songwriter David Ryan Cook as Worship Pastor and Songwriter in Residence.

In this role, Cook will provide visionary leadership, spiritual mentorship, and creative direction for LPU Worship, a co-curricular group that invites students to develop real-world skills while being discipled in worship expression. He will also help to cultivate a vibrant, Christ-centered and Spirit-filled worship culture reflective of the University’s heritage that includes LPU Worship songwriting retreats, original music projects, and future recordings that express the spiritual identity and mission of the University.

Today, our LPU staff and faculty came together for our semester kickoff!

We spent the day worshiping, praying, connecting, and preparing for a new semester as one community. As we begin a new school year, we’re grounding ourselves in our 2026–27 verse of the year:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5

As we welcome our students back, this verse will guide us throughout the year as we remain rooted in Christ, grow together, and trust Him to bear fruit through all that we do.

Life Pacific University will welcome its newest Warriors to the San Dimas campus for Fall 2026 New Student Orientation, August 28–30, marking the beginning of a new academic year and the first official weekend as members of the LPU community.

NSO is designed to make the transition to college a little easier, and a lot more memorable. Incoming students will meet classmates and professors, learn where to find support, experience some of LPU’s favorite traditions and begin discovering what it means to call LPU home.

“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Dr. Ken Bringas, Chair of the LPU Seminary, shared a powerful reminder from John 7:37–38: knowing about Jesus is one thing, but truly knowing Him is another. Transformation happens when faith moves beyond knowledge and becomes a life lived in His presence, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
