Happy Earth Day🌎 Here are some ways you can celebrate and protect the planet:
🌿Before throwing something away, think about whether it can be recycled or repurposed♻️
🌿You can also limit waste by reducing the amount of things you buy. For example, check your local library for that book you have to read before visiting the store📖
🌿Turning off the faucet when you brush your teeth can conserve up to eight gallons of water a day💧💦

🌟Student Spotlight🌟 This week we're highlighting our adorable (and shy)😂 student, Darryl. DJ is a 2nd grader who started his academic journey with us in our Letters and Sounds program and is moving up to the Phonics Program after only one month of working with us!!

DJ is a hard worker who loves to earn tokens and go shopping at the prize wall🏆 at the end of every session and sets his goals for the next prize! Keep up the good work DJ! 😁👍

Tutor Job Description
At Tutoring Club, we work to reduce stress and build confidence by providing academic support for students in rigorous courses, serve as a role model to students, and assist students with organization and project planning. Tutors are expected to be active learners and mentors, not just content experts.

Tutor Job Duties and Responsibilities:
*Provide individualized instruction to students by (re)teaching subject material, study skills, test taking strategies, discussing testing techniques, working on solutions to problems, and assessing students' progress throughout the tutoring session.
*Promote productivity and learning by managing tutoring environment, keeping area free of unnecessary distractions, and increasing productivity and learning.
*Provide constructive feedback to students by using positive reinforcement techniques, while encouraging, motivating, and building confidence in students.
*Communicate student progress by documenting and updating student records and following up with staff.

Tutor Job Specifications:
*Ability to work with children in Elementary, Middle and/or High school
*Have academic proficiency in one or more subjects (English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Spanish etc…) with an ability to tutor AP and Honors level classes.
*Ability to follow and implement curriculum
*Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
*Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
*Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
*Ability to help students reach their potential
*Ability to ask questions and provide constructive feedback to students
*Ability to implement positive-reinforcement strategies that maximize learning--in a cheerful and authentic manner.
*Ability to arrive for work prepared and on time

Tutor Education and Experience:
*Be currently enrolled in college or have a college degree
*Have excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills.
*Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality
*Academic background in subject areas you wish to tutor
*Must be Detail-oriented - Quality and Precision focused

Experience in education is a plus, but is not required.

We provide SAT/ACT prep program customized to our Student's strengths/weaknesses. We also provide Standardized Assessment test prep such as ERB/ISEE/CTP and GATE testing for Gifted and talented students.

In this New Normal life and Virtual Learning, we didn't realize the need for additional help for my son until mid of a trimester and I am so glad we found the Tutoring Club in Carmel Valley. The Director and Coaches were very helpful to understand the problem and came up with strategical solutions to support my son. I would like to Second one of the previous comment "The flexibility of the academic support provided is extremely valuable as the student can be assisted in multiple subjects on as needed basis". Also adjusting the schedules depending on upcoming exams and prioritizing the classes based on areas that need improvement are very unique and key for the success of the students.
