Behind every graceful leap and confident performance is a mother who cheered from the wings, drove to every rehearsal, and mastered the art of the perfect stage bun. 🩰✨

Today, we celebrate the incredible moms of the Scripps Performing Arts Academy. Thank you for your endless support and for being the foundation upon which our students build their dreams. Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️

The Magic of the Wings 🦋✨

As we look back on our Thumbelina performance from last week, we are reminded that the magic starts long before the curtain rises. Behind every effortless glissade and steady balance were hours of strength training, coaching, and a commitment to excellence.

Seeing our dancers support one another in the wings is just as rewarding as seeing them shine under the spotlights. Thank you to our incredible faculty and the families who support these artists every step of the way.

Drop a "🩰" in the comments if you were there to witness the magic!

BRAVO to the cast of Thumbelina! 🩰✨

We are still catching our breath after Friday’s stunning performance! On April 17th, our dancers brought this classic tale to life with such poise, technical precision, and heart. Watching the growth of these performers from the first rehearsal to the final bow has been a true joy.

From the delicate flutter of wings to the vibrant energy of the garden, every movement told a story. Congratulations to our entire cast for their dedication to the craft and for a truly professional showing. You all sparkled on that stage! 🌟

It’s time to move past "memorized" and get to "meaningful." 🎭

Join us for The Monologue Lab, our third workshop in The Rehearsal Room series. This intensive is for Grades 6–12 performers who are ready to stop "reciting" and start acting.

Join award-winning director Katie McGhie as she helps you break down your solo scene to find the authentic connection and specific, bold choices that directors are actually looking for.
In the Lab, you will master:

✅ Definition & Purpose: What is a monologue and exactly when (and why) to use it.
✅ The Process: Essential tips on how to effectively rehearse and memorize your material.
✅ "Own the Room" Technique: Professional audition prep, scene study, and how to find the monologue that fits YOU best.

Every student will get time to work on and perform their chosen monologue for real-time professional feedback from Katie! 🎤🎬

🗓️ WHEN: Sunday, April 12

Happy Easter to our wonderful community! 🐣

We’re celebrating today by sharing one of our favorite memories—the Bunny Mom and her bunnies from our 2018 performance of Earthkalah. It’s hard to believe how much these dancers have grown since this photo was taken!

We hope your day is as bright and joyful as these smiles on stage. How are you celebrating today? Let us know in the comments! 👇
