Today, City Council passed a resolution recognizing and uplifting the Somali-American community, and standing firmly against racist rhetoric, harassment, filming, and stalking directed at Somali Americans, and specifically Somali childcare providers.
A special thank you to Council Member Sean Elo Rivera ( Councilmember Sean Elo-Rivera ) for bringing this resolution forward.

A victory for Democracy! The California Voting Rights Act of 2026 authored by Senator Sabrina Cervantes backed by the California Democracy Partnership passed the Senate!!

NEW POLL: 2 in 3 CA voters believe our democracy is under attack, according to a Berkeley/IGS survey reported in the LA Times today. By overwhelming margins, voters voice support for stronger state laws to protect voting rights.
PANA’s proud to join the California Democracy Partnership in supporting the CA Voting Rights Act (CVRA) of 2026 to protect and strengthen our democracy.
The CVRA of 2026 will:
• Increase oversight of jurisdictions with a history of voter discrimination
• Enable more effective legal challenges to voter suppression
