It has been one week since our Taupou Samoa Luau Showcase 2026, and we’re still sitting with the beautiful feeling of that night and all that was shared within our Taupou village.

This journey would not be possible without our students, parents, families, and community who continue to pour their time, energy, and love into this work. As another session comes to an end, we’re reminded that everyone in the village has a responsibility,to serve, learn, grow, and contribute.

To our students, thank you for dedicating yourselves to learning and connecting with your ancestral ways of being. Thank you for carrying our stories, songs, and traditions with pride. You are the next generation of cultural leaders, educators, and storytellers.

To our parents and families, thank you for showing up wholeheartedly and abundantly. Your support creates the foundation that allows our youth and village to thrive.

To our team, the heart and soul of Taupou, fa’afetai tele lava. The sacrifices, long nights, and unseen work do not go unnoticed. Through your service, you continue to carry the spirit of our Fa’a Samoa and the legacy of Taupou forward.

A huge fa’amalo to our Village 2026 for beautifully showcasing the songs and dances of our beloved Samoa and Polynesia.

As we close AANHPI Heritage Month and enter Samoan Language Week, we’re reminded of this year’s proverb: “E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le nu’u” From the high mountains are the blessings of the village.

The wisdom, wellbeing, and blessings of our people are passed down through generations and nurtured within community. It is through movement, song, language, and understanding that we reconnect to our natural ways of being, just as our ancestors did. When we gather to sing, dance, learn, and share together, we see what a thriving culture and thriving village truly look like.

Fa’afetai tele to everyone who helped make this year’s showcase possible, and to Bali Hai Restaurant and team for always welcoming our Taupou village with such generosity and aloha.

Our village is strong because of the people who continue to show up for one another. 🛖❤️‍🔥🙌🏾✨

In Loving Memory of Queen Iesha Ena 👑✨

On behalf of Taupou Samoa Cultural Arts & Taupou Samoa LLC., we extend our deepest gratitude to the Honorable Queen Iesha Ena. A devoted servant of the Samoan and Pacific Islander community in San Francisco, Queen Iesha has blessed our Board and organization with her many gifts and talents. We send our sincere love and condolences to her family, friends, the broader San Francisco community, and our sister organization, SCDC.

Affectionately known as Aunty John in program spaces, Queen Iesha cultivated a loving, affirming, and safe environment for QTPI (Q***r and Trans Pacific Islanders) youth and adults to live unapologetically and lead with love.

Aunty John was a true pillar of the community. A walking billboard for SCDC, a devoted aunty, nurturing mother figure, trusted community liaison, beloved pese director, loyal sister, and cherished daughter.

Her legacy is both profound and lasting. Over two decades, Aunty John dedicated herself to uplifting the lives of countless youth in San Francisco through cultural preservation, song, and dance. Her work has left an indelible mark on our hearts and our community.

You will be dearly missed earthside sister queen. Fa’amālō le tauivi, fa’afetai mo au meaalofa. May your journey onward be as radiant as the love you gave so freely. ❤️

With love and deep gratitude,
Sis Kiki and the Taupou Samoa Aiga
