I got a powerful insight tonight. It has to do with this picture.
Here is my best friend in the whole world and a man's "best friend." This post is an insight about the latter.

Dogs. Have you ever thought about what a wonder they are? If you've got a beloved one, it will shower you with love from morning till night. God made them that way. He even gave dogs the ability to keenly pick up our emotions. Many dogs respond to every bit of eye-to-eye contact you make with them. Monty is that way. One glance, and he's at your feet, wagging up a storm, trying to get some licks in.

Haven't you had moments where the steadfast affection of a dog blows your mind?! They are sooo constant. Monty is 1 Corinthians 13 embodied! My insight comes from this. I realized something about dogs I had never fully understood before.

Dogs are a profound gift of God to us. Their constant affection is meant to be a help to remind us of God's love for us. Just as Monty will always be up and Adam to shower on the love at a moment's notice, the Lord is the same. He delights over us. When we turn our affection and love and gratitude toward Him, He delights in it–in us. He's always smiling our way.

This morning at church we sang a new song. It was all about sweet, sweet forgiveness. I'd never sung a song so wonderful in communicating, "Come to Me. I love you. If you've done something wrong, I forgive you. O, I just want you to come, and come and come again!” Sweet sweet forgiveness.

The God of the stars loves you. He thrills over you. A pet’s affection, especially dogs’, is a reminder of just how coinstant His delight is in you. Don’t hide from Him. Come . THere is sweet sweet love and sweet sweet forgiveness when it is needed…ALWAYS.
