CDT offers dance classes of all styles for children and teens in San Diego. Creative Dance Theatre was founded in 1958 by Polish immigrant Helen Hithersay.
Through name changes and location changes, studio ownership has always been passed down from teacher to student. Our current owner Erika Madero took over the studio from her teacher Laura Roach in Jan. 2021. We believe that dance is a living art. We provide an intentional environment where children can be comfortable to express themselves and communicate their emotions through movement and dance.

Happy Valentines Day from CDT! 💕💕💕
All of our creative dance classes participated in our annual Valentines story dance: Dolls Without Hearts. Dancers learn different movement qualities inspired by different dolls. When the doll maker forgets to give them hearts, the Queen of Hearts fairy saves the day and gives the hearts so the dolls can dance the night away.

Our little ballerinas had a special visitor in class! One of our teen pointe dancers came to class and talked all things ballet, pointe shoes, and of course danced altogether. We love how much our students interact and learn from each other, regardless of age! 🩰
