Last week was one of those weeks that fills your teacher heart completely. 🤍

From being spoiled all week during Teacher Appreciation Week by our amazing PTO, to the thoughtful love from my students and their families, I felt so incredibly appreciated and thankful.

One of my favorite moments was creating these Mother’s Day coaster gifts with my students. It was my first time making them, and they turned out so special! Seeing the excitement and pride on their faces while creating something meaningful for their families made my heart so happy. Safe to say… this will definitely become a yearly tradition in our classroom. 🫶✨

Feeling extra grateful for this little classroom community and all the love that was shared last week.

POV: the outfit is doing classroom morale support today ✏️💛

My pencil dress + pockets = instant happiness. There’s just something about wearing something fun, colorful, and teacher-themed that can turn even the toughest school days around.

Because sometimes the little joys matter…
✨ a comfy dress
✨ pockets for all the teacher things
✨ smiles from students
✨ and feeling like YOU in the classroom

Teacher OOTD approved ✔️

POV: Teachers finally found their classroom emotional support bestie 💛

Meet my “Teacher Pal” the gifted Slumber Pal Mini from Breathing Pal and honestly… this little thing is coming with me EVERYWHERE. 😂

✨ Fits right in my pocket
✨ Perfect for a quick teacher power nap on lunch
✨ Soft, calming, and comforting after a long day
✨ Even fits in a student desk tray for calming support during the day

Because sometimes teachers need a reset button too. 🫶

The tiny deep breaths, the calm moments, the pocket-sized comfort… we LOVE a classroom companion that supports both teachers and students. 💛

If you give a student a pencil… ✏️
they’ll want to write their name.

And if writing feels smooth and successful… they’ll want to keep trying 💛

That’s why I LOVE Ticonderoga pencils in my classroom.

In kindergarten, the little things matter BIG. A strong pencil means:
✨ fewer interruptions
✨ less frustration
✨ more confidence
✨ and students who are excited to write

Because when students feel successful with their tools, they begin believing in themselves too 🥹

✨POV: You realized Canva can make Open House prep look WAY more put together 💻✂️🍎

Creating a custom banner for Open House is one of my favorite ways to make our classroom feel welcoming before families even walk through the door! ❤️ And the best part? It’s actually SO easy to make in Canva!

From choosing a theme ➡️ adding your text ➡️ printing and hanging… this banner instantly made our space feel cozy, fun, and ready for a new year together ✨

Teacher tip:
Save your banner template so you can quickly update it each year instead of starting from scratch 🙌

Would you hang a custom banner for Open House? 🖍️

So excited to be a Kagan Ambassador! 🤍

Two of my absolute favorite structures are Mixed Pair Share and Rising Star—because they make engagement feel natural, structured, and inclusive for EVERY learner.

✨ Mixed Pair Share
Students pair up (often with a partner they don’t usually work with), and take turns sharing their thinking while the other listens. Then, switch! It gives every child a chance to process out loud, hear new ideas, and build confidence in a low-pressure way. No hiding, no opting out…just meaningful conversations happening all around the room.

✨ Rising Star
This one is MAGIC for confidence building 💫 A student shares an idea, and then another student “rises” to add on, support, or extend the thinking. It turns sharing into a team effort instead of a spotlight moment. Even my quieter students feel safe jumping in because they’re building together—not performing alone.

That’s why I love Kagan…
✨ Everyone answers
✨ Everyone interacts
✨ Everyone is engaged

Gone are the days of relying on name sticks and hearing from just one voice. In my classroom, every student gets the opportunity to think, talk, and shine 💛

Because every voice matters—and every superstar deserves to be heard 💫

Have you used Kagan? What’s your favorite Kagan structure?
