For more than a decade, the UC San Diego OSHA Training Institute Education Center and the Guam Contractors Association have worked together to bring occupational safety training to workers across Guam.

This work was deeply meaningful to our late colleague Stephanie MacGilfrey, who dedicated years to bringing safety training to Guam, Saipan and other Pacific Islands and building lasting relationships with the communities she served. We honor Stephanie’s dedication and the lasting impact she made through this work. 💙

Last week, the Healthcare Education team attended the 20th Substance Use Disorder and Integrated Care Conference, presented by the California Department of Health Care Services.

Our team had the opportunity to share information about California’s new SUD counselor education requirements and the free, 80-hour core competency training offered through the ASCEND program at UC San Diego Extended Studies, supported by the California Department of Health Care Services.

We’re proud to contribute to this important work and help expand access to education for SUD counselors.
