The view from my new office. Not bad huh? Review sessions are finally at my new home this week: the math lab. A student today said to me that their parents had got them several tutors before and they were never able to help. But that I was an exception. Tutoring was finally helpful for once. What a profound compliment and a heart warming reward.

This is my favorite slide from tutor training Friday. My goal is always to foster self sufficiency in my students.
I'm excited for my new role as SI tutor for the new class Math 116X this Spring. I'll have the opportunity to help out in the classroom. I will also conduct bi-weekly review sessions. I look forward to this new and unique experience. @ San Diego Miramar College
Math 116X is intended for students who need more support than a traditional Math 116 course offers. This course is designed to strengthen the algebra skills of students seeking Business or Natural Science degrees who are required to take an applied calculus course. Topics in the course include the theory of functions; graphing functions; exponential and logarithmic functions; solving equations involving algebraic, exponential and logarithmic functions; solving systems of linear equations; matrix algebra; linear programming; modeling; and applications problems.
Success stories are so rewarding. Thanks for sharing yours .puddles
I just updated my flyer. What do you think?
Download it, print it, post it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v7dMNzsZLXb5Mbjfwavw4fw6yA9PmduC/view?usp=drivesdk
Somebody has been vandalizing my tutoring flyers at Miramar College. First I noticed they covered up mine with theirs (1st pic), despite a board full of open space. So I just moved theirs. But then I saw other locations where they had taken mine down, wrote their stuff on the back and reposted. So I removed them and will be submitting them to the dean. This is how I make a living and this threatens my livelihood. If you see this happening, please document it and report it. This happened in the cafeteria and the board outside the math lab. Like and share. Thank you.
Udpate 2: [email protected] is a legit email. They replied to my friend's request for tutoring Do what you want with it.
Update: I reported it to the dean. They said they cannot help me. Can I ask my fellow students/friends/colleagues on campus a favor? If you see my flyer has been removed, flipped, covered up, etc. please restore it. If needed hang a new one. I can give you flyers when I see you on campus and/or send you the electronic copy. Thanks for your support.

This time *I* was the student. Just wrapped up tutor training (Ed 100) at Mesa College. What a great experience. I look forward to applying to teachings of these experienced teachers and tutors to become a better tutor myself. @ San Diego Mesa College
Being creative when coming up with ways to help the student understand. So much fun.
