Food for thought this week..."wait for the bubbles to settle"
They say you can't see the bottom of a bubbling pot...this holds true as symbolism for our emotions and our ability to communicate and think clearly. Think of your emotions as a pot of water...steadiness is the calmest but the water is capable of many things. This week, when you start to bubble (feel anxious, angry, frustrated, stressed, shaky, upset, fearful, worried, etc) know that this not the right time to see a situation clearly. Rather it is the time to let it bubble. So be aware, let it bubble and don't let the bubbles affect others (they can burn and cause damage!) Instead, the bubbles settle, then you will be able to see the bottom of the "pot." Now is the time to think clearly and talk or be.
Yoga helps with us being aware of this and us managing our bubbles. Bubbles are not bad, they are a part of being a human. It is how we respond that wisdom is needed to keep our nervous system in tact. If you are not getting my bubble analogy, the theme of the week is to be aware of your emotions and when negative emotions come up, let them out in a healthy way (like breathing, yoga, running, pickle ball, writing, crying, etc) and then when you feel settled again, use that to go deeper and see a situation more clearer. Sometimes our emotions can make things blurry. This is true for even positive emotions.
