Drum fills shouldn’t throw your timing off. The goal is to stay connected to the pulse, even as you move around the kit. When you keep your counting steady and your movement controlled, your fills flow naturally and land exactly where they should. Stay aware, stay relaxed, and let the groove carry you through. 🥁

Not every song is right when you’re starting out - and that’s okay. Choosing songs with a comfortable tempo and simple structure makes it easier to stay in time, build confidence, and actually enjoy playing. That’s where real progress happens. Start with what feels manageable, lock in the groove, and grow from there. 🥁

When you stay relaxed, your movement becomes smoother, your control improves, and everything feels more natural. Tension does the opposite - it restricts flow and makes playing harder than it needs to be. Loosen your grip, stay in control, and let the sticks do the work. 🥁

Great timekeeping is built slowly. Practising at a lower tempo with a metronome gives you the space to focus, stay in control, and line everything up properly. That’s where real consistency is developed - not when you rush, but when you take your time. Slow it down, stay locked in, and let your timing grow stronger with every beat. 🥁
