UPCOMING SPRING 2022 TRYOUTS:
Be sure to have your Athletic Clearance done prior to tryouts, or you will not be allowed to participate.
- Boys Indoor Volleyball: Feb 12th is first day of tryouts. Contact Coaches Nikki/Jeff and watch MBHS Athletics website for details.
- Girls Beach Volleyball: Feb 14th & 16th 2:15-4:15pm at BUCS BEACH sand courts on campus! Contact Coach Brittany and watch MBHS Athletics website for details. Girls Beach Volleyball is NOW A CIF SPORT so you need your Athletic Clearance done prior to tryouts!

MBHS Girls Volleyball planning is underway for this coming Fall! We are looking forward to a full season this coming year :) Stay tuned for Tryouts dates and possible Open Gyms and/or summer opportunities!

Sorry, but no spectators are allowed at indoor sporting events at SDUSD schools, but you can watch the livestream for free on NFHS Network this season! Hi Bucs Volleyballers! A few updates: Boys Volleyball is going back to their regular season in Spring. Girls Volleyball will hopefully start in January, if allowed by Covid guidelines at that time. There will be no tournaments (sorry no Bucs Bash this season!), or out-of-state travel allowed. Indoor practices are not allowed in Purple Tier, but will be allowed in Red Tier. Volleyball competitions will be allowed in Orange Tier. So... let's hope we get out of Purple Tier (and into Red Tier) soon so we can at least start practices in January, then get out of Red Tier (into Orange Tier) so we can compete! TRYOUTS for Girls AND Boys Volleyball: Saturday December 12th, 2020... mark your calendars! We'll post more details about exact times (and hopefully some pre-tryouts workouts) as soon as we know more. That's just over 3 months to get ready!

Many changes are in store for schools and sports, in this strange year of COVID-19... First up, CIF announced the modification of the high school sports seasons: girls (and boys) indoor volleyball have been moved to Winter for the upcoming 2020-21 school year. This means tryouts and practices will NOT begin in August as planned, due to COVID-19 safety protocols. We expect to hear start dates and sports calendars by August 14th and will post updates here and email our families as we find out.

CIF San Diego Section Effective June 30, 2020 the CIF San Diego Section Offices will be closed. The CIFSDS Staff will be working remotely until Fall 2020 (date TBD). Please note the CIF San Diego Section new mailing...

New Girls Head Volleyball coach at Mission Bay HS! Coach Barb Birnbaum is taking over for Steve Upp as Girls Varsity Coach for the 2020-21 school year. This is a very unique time and many things are still uncertain, but we will do our best to keep you informed of all the changes!
