So excited to start reading Walk Two Moons with my class. I remember reading this book in elementary school and not wanting to leave the bunk bed in my room because I wanted to finish it…and I definitely cried at the end. We are also going to create a story map as we read to practice various comprehension skills and more importantly celebrate this amazing piece of children’s literature!

💡”Flex Seating with a Twist” UPDATE💡

🗓I started this year with students using bins instead of desks. I was lucky enough to round up enough tables so the temptation to put stuff in desks won’t be a problem for my kids! THIS HAS BEEN AMAZING! Every also received all the same school supplies with their class number on it. I put up a MATERIALS NEEDED visual on one of my TVs between each block of time (coming in during the morning, recess, after lunch) and they grab what the need for that time period.

📚I also love that I am starting off the year being able to check whether students are staying organized. I feel like being organized is an essential life skill!!

🔎I have not waited for people to find something in their desk and lost supplies has not been an issue!
