We're not sure reunions are still "a thing." but here's a throw back pre-pandemic to when they used to be. How many classes from Imperial County high schools have rocked Portland Oregon? Enjoy Jack Liechty, Mark Bock, the CUHS all-stars and of course Darrell Bowen reprising It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n Roll) https://fb.watch/7yAXt10ng8/

CUHS ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP FUND ANNUAL REPORT
MARCH 12, 2021

This CUHS Alumni Scholarship Fund began in March, 2012, and has collected over $84,091 in donations as of March 12, 2021, with more tax deductible donations continuing to be received. The Committee has awarded a total of $44,250 in scholarships to 33 deserving recipients to date. Many of our scholars have graduated from SDSU and are pursuing their dreams.

The Committee interviews candidates with excellent academic records, community involvement, and a desire to obtain a college education with limited resources. The awards typically range from $500 to $2,000. Our scholars are pursuing careers in nursing, psychology, teaching, medicine, criminal justice, and political science.

As a point of reference, tuition and books for a year at Imperial Valley College for 15 units costs about $3,000-6,000, while the same 15 units cost more than $7,500 per year at the San Diego State University-IVC Partnership program in Calexico. This does not include transportation and fees. IVC now has a program to provide housing to those students who are homeless.

For those who are interested in our expense to award ratio, the committee is proud to announce that the fund has no expenses and is administered by the Imperial Valley College Foundation under the leadership of Rod Smart. We consider this program to be among the most efficient in the country.

Donations are made to IVC Foundation for the benefit of CUHS Alumni Scholarship Fund on the Memo line of checks or via credit card or wire transfer. Rod’s business address is 380 East Aten Road, Imperial, CA 92251, tel 760-355-6113. We encourage you to contact your classmates and solicit more donations so that we can achieve our goal of becoming self-sustaining.

The Scholarship Committee would like to diversify its membership among various classes so as to ensure future leadership. Currently, most positions are held by the Class of ‘60. Volunteers are welcome and may contact any one on the committee who are listed below. Thank you for your support.

Classmate 1: Knock knock.
Classmate 2: Who’s there?
Classmate 1: No one has volunteered to organize the 40-year reunion in 2021!
Classmate 2: Wait…this is a knock-knock joke. That’s not funny at all.
Classmate 1: I know, right?

Week 11: Central Spartans 41, Brawley Wildcats 7 - 11/04/2019

Big win on Friday for your Central Spartans. We're "taking" the bell more conventionally these days. Congratulations!

Week 11: Central Spartans 41, Brawley Wildcats 7 - In Week 11, we hit the road to cover the Imperial Valley League championship game and the famous Bell Game, a game where 5,500 games were in attendance to watch the 96th occurrence of the game – the 76th time it was played for the Bell – which is actually a bell taken off a San Diego Naval ship....

We need a new reunion leader to start planning our 40-year reunion--much anticipated and right around the corner. Who are "we?" Oh, just the Class of 1981, uncontroverted GOAT of CUHS. Duh! We've got lots of reunion support, but just need leadership with fresh takes, fresh ideas and most important, fresh breath. Please message this page.
