Hello from Chicago! It’s cold, but the conference has been great. The hotel many CA directors are staying in (Palmer House) is just down the street from the Chicago sign! I hope you had a great week! Happy winter break! 💙💛

Sunday (12/8), the Sapphire Sound went to the Pearl Harbor National Memorial. We visited the USS Arizona and paid our respects. Then we shuttled over to the USS Missouri and performed with the Arizona in the background. It was a moving moment for all of us and a day we will not forget. We rounded out our trip with a fun luau in the evening. 💙💛🌴🌺

Make shift salon in the lobby of our hotel to get ready for the parade. Great volunteers helped to get everyone with the same look. From there we went to Fort DeRussy to rehearse and then perform for the Opening Ceremony for the Pearl Harbor parade. We listened to a 104 year veteran speak who was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. It was incredible to hear him recall the events of the day. The Sapphire Sound did a great job performing in the parade from start to finish. So proud! 💙💛🇺🇸

Friday (12/6) was a busy day. We went to the University of Hawaii to chat with Dr. Boeckman, traveled through the rain most of the day, but still had a great time, went to the Pali Lookout, stopped at a Macadamia Nut Farm, went to the North Shore for shaved ice, and finished at the Dole Plantation before heading back to Waikiki. This morning (12/7) we walked to the beach so we could “touch” the water. A few people may have touched a little more than others. 😆 Next, we will prepare for the Opening Ceremony and Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. It’s going to be a great day. 💙💛

Great job, Sapphire Sound! We closed our field season chapter tonight while looking forward to our journey to Hawaii. One more day of rehearsal. 💙💛🌴

Congratulations, Blue Team on an incredible championship run! We know this season was a sprint. You did it the only way we know how…grit and determination. I’m so proud of you! Parents, staff, and friends, we couldn’t do this without all of your support. Thank you! We are ALL IN, always! 💙💛
