Brighter Minds is a unique training program for children that is aimed at improving creative, intuitive and cognitive abilities in children. The activities done in Brighter Minds enhance the child’s whole brain and tap into the hidden potential of a child.
To understand how Brighter Minds works, let’s consider the neuroscience of learning. The human brain is made of brain cells called neurons. Any activity driven by the brain is through the formation of connections between the brain cells. When a baby is born, it has the same number of brain cells or neurons as adults, but the difference is in the connections which exist between the nerve cells. In an infant, the connections are well developed only in the primitive portions of the brain which regulate basic bodily functions such as breathing and digestion. In the sophisticated brain (forebrain), while the brain cells are there, the connections only develop later.
Our brain 'learns’ through strengthening neuronal connections. Every new experience leads to new connections being formed between brain cells. When these are strengthened through repetition, we ‘learn’ something new. What helps the brain develop are the experiences and the stimulus that the baby receives. Our environment has an important role in making us what we are. Language is a great example of this. Children naturally learn the language spoken by their parents. The same baby has the potential to learn any language; it is the environment that shapes it.
The concept of learning through repetition is the principle behind the statement: Neurons that fire together wire together (i.e., practice makes perfect).
In a child, the brain is like an exceptional super computer, with infinite ways to respond. For the previous example, certain connections between nerve cells means the baby can now understand English, certain other connections means that it can understand another language, say German. However, the brain gains efficiency by dropping connections that it does not use. This is the principle behind the statement: If you don’t use it, you lose it (an example is musical instrument)
As children grow older, all enhanced learning which makes a child an adult is facilitated through experiences. Cognitive development refers to this development of your child’s capacity for higher mental processes, such as learning languages, creativity, problem solving, understanding relation between cause and effect, rational and logical thinking, remembering, decision making and so on. Hence it is important to provide children the right environment to facilitate their cognitive development and give them a good foundation for the skill sets they will need in life.

There is where Brighter Minds has a unique role to play that is different from other programs and normal school education. Typically, education focuses on learning facts and skills. It is all about strengthening certain connections in the brain.
Brighter Minds is different. The training in Brighter Minds is based on scientific research related to brain function and is geared towards improving ability and potential in children. It includes the following activities:

- Exercises to increase the ability of brain to regenerate neurons
- Left and right brain synchronization exercises
- Exposure to Brain waves oscillation music to enhance brain connections
- Eyeball exercises to enhance the neuronal circuits
- Activities for sensory augmentation
- Enriched learning environment

These techniques and the learning environment help to stimulate Neuroplasticity (i.e., ability of the brain to change and adapt). They help to equip every child with tools and methods to enhance cognitive functioning for achieving personal excellence and instill confidence in themselves.
