Hello My name is Veronica and I would like to introduce myself. I am a mother of two children, we are a military family stationed here in beautiful sunny San Diego CA. We are from Illinois near St.Louis MO. I started watching large families from church our when i was 14 averaging anywhere from 2 to 10 children at a time. I did this throughout high school. Once i graduated I began working in a center for the toddler room. I worked there for two years while I was attending college as an elementary education major with an enfranchise in Art. I then became a full time mother until we moved here and i opened my business in 2010. I am the sole operator of Oh The Places You'll Go Childcare since then. In my childcare I offer many things that a center can not. We go on field trips and work on individual goals for each child. Since the Provider to child ratio is low I am able to provide help to each child where it is needed. Weather it be needing help with letter recognition, sight words, school age homework or even social skills that are very important in life. I always listen to what my childcare children are interested in. If they are interested in science we may plan a field trip to the science center, zoo, art museum or other great attractions that sunny San Diego has to offer. Our age group is older so never worry your child will not regress only learn and grow futher. We love to go outside and spend much of the time playing at the playground, field trips or even just a nature walk. Televesion time is kept to a minimal in my home childcare this includes video games, and computer time (except if for homework). We have time set aside in the morning and the afternoon to do these things but I expect each child to have either complete or worked on homework here in my home for a minamail of 30 minutes a day. Each child can always work on something weather it be homework or not there is always progress to be made, books to read, letters or spelling words to practice. Over the summer I do my best to help the kids work on what they left school working on. We have summer bridge books for the school age children that we work in over the summer months. I enjoy watching and helping all of my childcare children learn and grow. I love all the kids as if they were my own and I don't play favorites.
