Are you interested in digital signal processing? NeuroTech in UCSD is excited to collaborate with Triton Robosub for an intuitive DSP workshop! From the introduction (digital filters, FIR, IIR, and audio processing) to technical application, this workshop is helpful for people with all levels. To make our workshop beneficial for you, we use an interactive learning tool, similar to the Jupyter notebook, to go into deeper concepts such as Linear systems, Convolution, and Discrete Fourier Transform. If you want to quickly advance your knowledge in digital processing, this is a good workshop for you!

Interested in learning about neural networks and machine learning? Come join our workshop where we will be covering both how neural networks fundamentally work as well as basic extensions of the concept such as differing loss functions, optimization techniques, and more modern uses of neural networks!

Progress Update: FishSense Handheld System
This week at Triton Robosub we are finalizing the mechanical and electrical designs of our FishSense Handheld System which allows divers to gather data on fish in real time. This is a precursor to our fish trap system that will use similar technology to monitor mangrove ecosystems in Jamaica.
The Intel RealSense D455 depth camera in the system automatically detects and captures depth images of fish that swim by. A custom magnetic switch will allow us to easily turn the system on and off without introducing extra leakage points, and a lanyard on the handle will firmly affix the system to the diverβs wrist.
We aim to reduce the cost of this system to under $2,000. The affordability of our designs is a crucial part of the system, but also places limitations on what kinds of design choices we can make. This cost cap makes for interesting discussion and creative thinking! The expected battery life of the system will be at least twelve hours and the system will be able to recharge once it is out of the water.
Our goal is to have a prototype working by mid-February so that it can be deployed in the real world! We will continue to design features that will be implemented on future iterations of this system. Stay tuned for more!
