过年了，想家了。 Missing my home and my family in Shanghai during the Chinese New Year, which is celebrated now for one week in China, with lots of traditional food, red envelopes, fireworks, and visiting all the relatives.
This year is the year of 牛（means Ox, and pronounced as “niú”), so the popular greeting this year is Happy 牛 （niú, New) Year! Note that the Chinese language provides numerous puns because each Chinese character has many homophones (words with same pronunciation but different meaning). For example, another popular phrase used for this Chinese New Year is 祝你(wish you) “牛“转乾坤。The original phrase is 扭转乾坤. 扭转= to turn, 乾坤 = heaven and earth. 扭转乾坤 means to turn heaven and earth, in another words, to turn the whole direction, to make a big turn, have big change, especially if for example the year 2020 has been bad with the pandemic and now with the new year, we turn to the new page, have a new beginning and leave the bad luck behind. It is a nice pun: 扭->牛, 扭转乾坤 -> “牛”转乾坤。Wish you all a great 牛年2021，with good health and good luck. ❤️

Happy Teacher's Day! Sorry I have been absent. I also missed the opportunity to tell you about the traditional Chinese Mid-autumn Festival, which was on September 8th this year. Here's a little note I wrote that I want to share with you. Those who are curious about Chinese culture might find it interesting:

中秋节是中国的一个传统节日，亲朋好友，合家团聚。自从中国古代，诗人就经常借用月亮来抒发怀旧的情感和对故乡的思念。比如苏轼曾经写道：
"人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。
但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。"
September 8th, 2014. Mid-autumn festival.
Mid-autumn festival is a traditional holiday in China when families and friends gather together. Since the ancient times in China, the moon has always been used by poets to express their feelings of nostalgia and homesickness. For example, Su Shi once wrote:
"We often experience the happy reunions and the sad goodbyes in life, just like the moon changes its phase from crescent to full and to crescent again....Life is never perfect. Only wish it would last, regardless time, and distance, we share this wonderful moment (of full moon) together, with thousand of miles between us."
所以中秋节晚上的满月经常勾起他乡游子和那些由于距离而不能在一起的人的感伤之情。
So the full moon on the evening of mid-autumn festival often brings sentimental feelings to those who are away from home and those who can't be together because of the distance.
