Dear Friends of the San Diego Children’s Choir,
For more than 36 years, the San Diego Children’s Choir has been a vital part of San Diego’s cultural and educational landscape, providing high quality choral training, music education and performance opportunities to children across the county.
Our legacy is now at risk.
The City of San Diego, our largest funder each year, has proposed an unprecedented cut to all arts funding from the 2027 budget— delivering a devastating blow not just to our community and culture at large—but to the thousands of children our Choir impacts each year.
Their voices deserve a future.
Donate now and be the reason they keep singing:
$50 - Start a child’s journey by providing music literacy materials and foundational instruction
$100 - Further a child’s artistic growth through new learning opportunities
$250 - Expand access to music education across San Diego by helping to remove barriers
Other - Amount of your choice
Donate Today!
Your support is more than a gift. It is an investment in children, in community, and in the future of San Diego’s cultural heartbeat.
Together, we can keep their song alive.

Members of our Youth Chorale and Intermediate Choirs had an amazing time at Disney’s California Adventure over the weekend. They had the opportunity to perform at the Hollywood Backlot stage and spent the rest of the day strength in hand building relationships and enjoying all that DCA had to offer.

Dear SDCC Friends and Families,
The City of San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria has proposed a draft FY 2026-27 budget that includes an 85% reduction in arts and culture funding, eliminating support for organizations like the San Diego Children’s Choir and many others that strengthen and enrich our region every day.
If approved, these cuts will be devastating for San Diego’s arts community and will impact the children, families, neighborhoods, and the cultural life of San Diego.
➡️ Please take action now, it takes just 30 seconds: artsandculturesd.org
For SDCC, this significant funding helps us serve more than 1,500 children ages 1-18 each year. More than 70% receive scholarship-support or free access through in-school music programming in under-resourced communities.
Our choristers come from every background across 70+ zip codes and 200+ schools. Through music, they build confidence, creativity, discipline, connection, and belonging.
Arts and culture are not optional. They are essential to education, community well-being, civic pride, and our local economy.
But there’s still time to act, and your voice can make a difference!

SDCC Shines on Stage with Bach Collegium
Last month, SDCC’s Chamber Choir joined Bach Collegium San Diego (BCSD) for exceptional performances of J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor BWV 232.
Bach’s Mass in B Minor stands as a pinnacle of his musical achievement, and performing the final movement alongside Bach Collegium’s consummate professional musicians offered our young singers both a challenge and an incredible opportunity for growth. In this setting, Chamber Choir rose to the occasion with confidence and artistry, and the performances were met with resounding positive feedback.
Check out today’s blog post to read more about this collaboration.
