Cadets have been busy at the California Cadet Corps 2022 Summer Encampment! Our cadets represented Altus Schools well with an Honor Cadet for Mountaineering, two Golden Awards for Cadet of the Day, an Expert Marksmen, Drill Instructor, and a National Emergency First Responder Certification. The best part was that the Altus cadets were kind, caring, and respectful to all cadets and adults from across the state.
Engineers are utilized by every branch of military. Altus Schools Cadets are pioneering new curriculum focused on engineering. Students collaboratively create designs and build models. Recently students created model bridges and tested their support. Several bridges were able to hold multiple gallons of water! We look forward to seeing what else our engineers create.

The Basic Leadership Academy (BLA) has been going strong for three sessions in our San Diego area! The goal of the event is to train new cadets in drill and ceremonies, basic cadet knowledge, and leadership, but also encourage students to have fun and make new friends. The regiment staff worked many hours to plan and execute this event so far, and we are excited to teach our cadets more!
