Hiii! I want to bring you behind the scenes of a business decision I'm making right now😍
 
You might have heard me mention my intention for creating space to re-evaluate my life & business this Summer (if you haven't- now you know!).
 
This process has been expansive so far. I've received clarity, begun making small changes, & the inspiration keeps rolling in!
 
In an effort support my refresh + re-evaluation I’ve decided to follow my intuition & take a break from social media for the month of August!
 
It feels edgy & expansive, but most importantly it feels *right*. I plan on using this time to:
 
☀️Think about HOW I want to show up and serve you online going forward. 
 
☀️Evaluate what FEELS good in terms of our communication.
 
☀️Take time to PLAY in my personal life (bike riding, beach trips, visiting my BFF in Europe, cooking, reading, resting, etc.).
 
☀️Lean into SUPPORTING some new coaching clients I've recently onboarded.
 
☀️And CREATING some incredible new offers.
 
Yum!!!!! This feels so good in my bones.
 
As business owners, creatives, or ambitious career people (I'm assuming you're one of the three!)- this type of rest can feel super uncomfortable. 
 
But I'm learning through practice that more space = more creativity. greater leadership. JOY that's authentically infused in all areas of life.

Yesterday I talked about lowering expectations for a happier life❤️☀️But today I want to talk about dreaming!!! Taking ACTION towards your dreams. Expanding what you think is possible for your life! Reminding you that you are meant for MORE. Not in a perfectionistic, hustle-y, burnout inducing way. I’m talking about getting honest with your deep desires & creating a life that lights you UP. This is super personal & can feel REALLY S**TTY when it’s rooted in “shoulds” or comparison. When we combine our deep desires with nourishing expectations, that’s when the magic happens! That’s where the REAL growth is. The sustainable change that moves you forward without overtaxing your nervous system or burning you out. What’s the dream that keeps ruminating in your soul?
P.S. this picture! It’s me and my hubby Paul❤️for yearssss I wanted to live in a cozy little beach town & know people in the community. When we talked about moving to Cali 6 years ago we got a lot of encouragement & a LOT of pushback. At the end of the day we made the ***decision*** to take the leap & bring our dream to life☀️It’s been so fun - SO worth it and SUCH a great reminder to live life how you want to, not how other people want you to❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a great example of LOWERING EXPECTATIONS. For many years I thought that low expectations meant being lazy, giving up on dreams, settling vs striving, living a mediocre life, being sad, ETC. but what I’ve come to realize is re-setting life expectations is the easiest way to not only achieve your goals, but create a happier life. Now I look for opportunities to re-set expectations any chance I can get (I love helping clients build this skill too 🥰☀️). And rather than waiting for happiness to happen, look for opportunities to CREATE or DISCOVER it. Like lighting a candle, hugging someone tight, smelling a flower, savoring a meal, taking a walk, watching a great movie & more…what are 2 things in your life that make you authentically happy right now? ☀️

What does your brain tell you when ppl unfollow or unsubscribe?
THIS USED TO TRIGGER THE S**T OUT OF ME.
I’d see the numbers go up & down on my email list + social media & create a bazillion stories about how much I sucked.
So if you’re there or have been there, I get it❤️
But if that type of storytelling is burning you out & leaving ya feeling really low, play with the thought strategy I adopted:
“I’m building a community of people I want to hang with!”
“I LOVE when people take care of themselves & DECIDE what content to consume.”
“People are living their life! There’s a million reasons why they may be unsubscribing.”
“Iiiiiiiiii (ME!) unsubscribe & re-subscribe for different reasons ALL THE TIME- how amazing we have choice around what content we can consume.”
And lots more- what thoughts feel true for you??
My bottom line that I’ve arrived at is this: life is so complex & does not revolve around email, social media, podcast downloads or whatever else. If your identity is getting attached to this, time to lovingly get curious & re-evaluate.
YESSSS I want to grow our community & it’s so fun to see the business grow & figure out what serves/works best & letting go of things at don’t.
But business is just ONE part of life.
Transparently- I’ve been re-evaluating & refreshing my business & our community for the past month. AND IT FEELS SO GOOD. Emotional at times but in the best way possible.

A gentle reminder- if you’re craving self-expression but feel like becoming “more authentic” means posting your entire life online, or dancing in the street, starting conversations, leading meetings (fill in the blank)- let’s rewrite that story right now.
You become authentic by owning YOUR truth.
Creating the life YOU want to live.
Dissolving habitual patterns & beliefs that no longer support the person you want to become.
Authenticity is not reserved for the extroverts.
Let’s sit with this reflection today: “when do I feel the most ME?” & “what do I think I SHOULD be doing?”.
The first part? Let’s create more of THAT in life!!
The 2nd? Let’s let that comparison go👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽

✊🏽❤️Here's what I've learned in my
RE-decision around authenticity:

•People will be pi**ed off AND people will feel seen + inspired.

•People will hate you- get jealous- get triggered AND people will love you- support you- cheer you on.

•People will unfollow AND people will tell their friends to follow you.

•People won't get you AND people will say things like “it's like you're in my brain!”.

•People won't notice AND people will pay close attention.

Since re-deciding this truth (& practicing often!), I feel more confident and filled-up about my life than ever before.

Doesn't mean I don't hit bumps or have “off” days or feel insecure at times.

It DOES mean that in those moments I pull out two of my favorite authenticity tools:

1. Self-Compassion.
2. Curiosity.

If stepping into this level of unapologetic, mindful living is possible for me, this is 10000000000000000bajilliongazillion% possible for you. (Btw this is also how I support clients- let’s talk if you want to learn more about that🥳).

YASSSSS the winner for the best breakfast burrito in San Diego is 🤤🤤🤤🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯- we ate here for the first time this past wknd & WHOA. I happy danced my way out of the restaurant & then texted all of my friends the good news. If you’re a fellow burrito fanatic & live in SD (or looking for an excuse to come visit!!!) this is it! (If I ever host a local retreat you better believe these baby’s will be on the menu!! ☀️🌯❤️)

Hiii! What are you reading right now?? Or what’s the last book that you read & loved?? I’m on a major female biography kick this summer😍laughing, crying, inspiring myself through their brilliant stories. I also like biographies because you feel like you have a new friend at the end. The annoying part about ME reading biographies is I can’t shut up about them and basically talk about these people like they really are my friends🤣 book was hilllarious- I laughed out loud through 50% of it. Also- reading has become a fun self-care tool in my kit over the years. Would so much rather put my attention into this joy rather than worrying about other life things (a healthy escape as long as it’s not constantly avoiding discomfort or issues that need to be address IMO). Okay byyyyeeee! 😘😘😘🤓

Hiii! Sometimes I feel a little awkward sharing interviews I’ve done (TBH: the story I struggle with in my mind is “this is self promoting”, “you have a business- you have to promote yourself”, “this is awesome! this is FUN! I’m so proud of you!”, “I want any woman to see this & know they deserve an article about themselves too!”, “who do you think you are?”, “did I sound dumb?”, “I know someone will read this & feel seen + heard”…& on- are you enjoying these very honest peeks into my brain?😂). The story that FEELS good, that feels honest- the one that I want to share with you is that I p**p just like everyone else & sometimes I get an article written about me (thankfully not about p**ping😛). WHOAAA!!! Omg for anyone who’s following my bread making adventures- she’s here!!! - because God knows we need a little more lightness in the world right now❤️TBH today was a s**t day. I’ve cried at least 5 times, thought about moving, thought about rearranging the entire house, convinced I have no friends, completely certain I’d quit my business, inspired by new ideas, excited by some unexpected success, connected with some of my favorite people via text, held by my husband (literally & figuratively)…this is my human brain (ON MY PERIOD- ladies…never & I repeat NEVER make major decisions when aunt flow is in town if at all possible). I’m not looking for sympathy or reassurance- I’m sharing this because I think we see coaches, therapists, business owners, influencers (you name it) from a distance & convince ourselves they have it all together all of the time because it’s literally their job. I’m a Coach (a successful on too!) & I have my s**t together about 50% of the time. The goal isn’t perfection. My goal is to be a human being- to take care of myself, mess up, learn from my mistakes, learn from others, move forward & SERVE from love & integrity. Wherever you’re at today- however you’re feeling- know that you are enough & you are needed. People will hate you and love you (I love you p.s. 😆❤️), it’s about how YOU love you.
