Fiber Arts | Knitting: Intro to Knitting Workshop
Learn to Knit this Summer!
Come learn the basics to get knitting! We will cover cast on, knit stitch, cast off, and minor problem-solving in this beginner basics class. In this 2-hour class, you will learn to knit a square that can be a washcloth, or turn it into a plush bunny!
All materials are provided. However, if you’re interested in bringing your own needles, we recommend Size 10 (6mm) knitting needles. If bringing yarn, natural fibers in DK or bulky weight work well. And if you’re planning to make your square into a washcloth, cotton yarn works best. Instructor Leslie Valantine will have a fun selection of her own dyed yarns available for purchase at class.
Maybe we can say that supplies are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
Ages 7+years with an adult, or 12+years welcome!
All materials are included.

The Craft Collective's Organic Garden in Liberty Station was an opportunity for us to transform an under-utilized plot of land outside into a living, learning lab! Our Edible & Pollinator Garden is a perfect place to share with the community how gardening in a small space can be quite abundant. We look forward to teaching children and adults about the craft of gardening and raising awareness of plants that supply us food.
