The Athenaeum opened the School of the Arts in 1986 and now has two locations: The La Jolla Studio and The Athenaeum Art Center in Logan Heights. The School of the Arts has grown to reflect the artistic spirit of the San Diego art community by employing local artists and offering exhibiting platforms to students and faculty. Students will encounter many book-making fundamentals while creating a paper sculpture with cut paper pages. Learn “drawing to cut” techniques, which can be applied to many other cutting projects
