Learn techniques for creating and printing plates. Students investigate papers, select for properties, analyze aesthetic strategies for image making, and practice the principles of editioning and print conservation.

There's still time to register for Printmaking at San Diego Mesa College, which starts next week! (Tuesday, August 22, 2017) This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of intaglio, relief, and planographic printmaking processes. We’ll explore the many techniques used to create various printmaking plates including wood block, linoleum block, zinc, solar, and copper. In addition, students will learn to operate a printing press and alternative printmaking processes.
