Last Saturday was a BLAST!

Thank you to Ivy and Kiki at Because I Rock for bringing the mines to our front door! Our students ages 10-18, had the opportunity to learn about geology with a hands-on crystal mining experience. What made the experience truly special was the heart that the Because I Rock team puts into their work.

Over the 25-26 school year, more than 1,300 elementary students from Lincoln Cluster schools in southeastern San Diego will learn about chemistry, biology, engineering, and computer science in Steps-2-STEM. Registration is open for the Girls Take Flight 2026 Spring Drone Camp at EIS!

Girls Take Flight is a free program for 10th and 11th grade girls and female-identifying students at a Title I school in San Diego.

No previous drone or technology experience required! Learn how to code and fly drones, with a hands-on drone simulator experience, practice drone safety and environmental awareness, and learn about tech careers with guest talks from female drone professionals.

EIS is honored to support students from all cultures, including those from our African American community.

Did you know the origins of Black History Month trace back to 1926 when Carter G. Woodson established Black History Week? One hundred years later, it is celebrated across the nation for the entire month of February.

Another group of volunteers helped us beautify our outdoor area and assemble robotics kits for EIS programs. We could not be more thankful for their time, energy, and positive attitude.
