SDUSD is planning to remove much of the grass area and some trees in front of HTVCS. The grey areas show the proposed buildings expansion into grass. NO CONTACT WITH THE COMMUNITY TO INFORM US OF THE CHANGED PROJECT between 2020 and April 2026. Also, newer trees along Saranac St are in jeopardy due to construction of two story classroom building.

School staff is supposed to open the gates after school and the contractor is to close them at night. The contractor is to open them on weekends and close them at night. Recently, the Saranac gate to the park has been locked during park hours. Mohawk is generally open. This is an unacceptable for the contractor to be paid for this service and not do their job. Please contact David Lee with a photo of the locked gate. David Lee: [email protected], (619) 235-1145. This photo is from yesterday, a beautiful Saturday afternoon, when only one man with an off leash dog was in the park.

PLEASE LEASH YOUR DOGS. THE PARK IS FOR EVERYONE! Kids and elderly are afraid to go to the park because of rambunctious dogs jumping on them, not to mention owners not picking up after their dogs.
San Diego schools opened their fields to the public. The trouble? All the dog p**p.
There’s a chance the off-leash problem could jeopardize the city’s joint-use parks program — or at least slow its expansion.

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P)summer program starts next Monday, June 24th and ends on Friday, July 19th. So the students will need the park from 8am to 4:30pm. Public can use the park after school's out.

Turf is restored and looks great. Park is open- outside of school hours. Please tread gently on the turf....everyone and every dog. Pick up after your dogs and pickup your trash...even if not yours. This is a community park. We all need to pitch in to make it work!

Hey friends and neighbors,
You know on-leash dogs are OK in our park. I personally love to see them run free, but it is actually against the park rules. Dogs scare some kids and the school has reported that sometimes the p**p is not picked up. 🤢👎😢. This could jeopardize dog access. PLEASE BE COOL AND ATTENTIVE TO YOUR DOGS!
