The Pacific Sociological Association held its annual conference over the weekend, and SDSU's Sociology Department was well represented. We couldn't be more excited about the quality of research coming from our students and faculty! The following meetings were hosted by those within our department:

Inequalities and Possibilities in Education [Panel with Presenters]

Panelists included: Irina Chukhray, University of California Davis; (SDSU BA psychology) & Rachael Horn Langford, San Diego State University.

Dr. Neftalie Williams of the Sociology Department and the Center for Skateboarding, Action Sports, and Social Change presented at this year's SDSU Leadership Summit Conference alongside keynote speakers and high-profile skateboarders Amelia Brodka & Kanten Russell.

The theme of this year's conference was "Leadership in Motion," and it focused on capturing the essence of progress and adaptability in leadership and steering through challenges, pivoting swiftly, and carving unique paths.

The Department of Sociology is proud to announce that Dr. Charlene Holkenbrink-Monk was recently selected as a Fulbright Scholar! She will be performing postdoctoral research at the University of Malaga in Spain.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Holkenbrink-Monk on this exciting news and tremendous accomplishment!
