You’re looking at HIStory
Reverend Raphael Warnock, is the State of Georgia’s first Black US Senator. He joins the ranks of only 10 others in the Senate’s history.
He is a Morehouse Man (1991), following in the steps of another, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Further, since 2005, Warnock has served as the 5th senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. King also served alongside his father, proceeding their grandfather/father respectively, all Morehouse Men.
Black & HBCU excellence prevails again.

HBCUASD sends our heartfelt condolences to the family & friends of Alumnus Marion McCord. A Morehouse Man of 1971, McCord served as a scientist, minority recruiter & project manager with Naval Ocean Systems Center, locally for nearly 4 decades.
He alongside friend, fellow Morehouse Man & fraternity brother, Dr. Norris Charles owned and operated The Alpha Center on Imperial Avenue. Alumnus McCord was also very active throughout his community.
We thank you for your contributions. The McCord family, our brothers of Morehouse College (Greater San Diego Chapter), Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc (Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter) and friends, we lift you in prayer during this time.

To all our future students & alumni, let this inspire you! Just so we’re clear, here is the greatness that comes from HBCUs that made this Presidency possible.
Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, South Carolina State University (1962), thank you for endorsing President-Elect Joe Biden. Thank you also for your advice, that he took, to have a Black woman for a running mate (6 were on his list), that led to Vice-President Elect Kamala Harris, Howard University (1986).
And of course many thanks to the woman with the plan, Stacey Abrams, Spelman College (1995), who did not let 2018 derail her plan. She could have continued vying for VP or answered calls to run for the Late Congressman John Lewis’ district. But she went forward and fought a different fight, continuing Lewis’ legacy (alumnus of American Baptist College & Fisk University) against voter suppression & registering over 800k voters, which resulted in Georgia going blue!
Historically Black College & University alumni started this (Clyburn), were responsible for the shift & indisputable projection (Abrams) and will continue this going forward (Harris) ... in the name of a remarkable Legacy (Lewis)
So the next time you hear are HBCUs still needed, they don’t prepare you ... or anything else questioning their validity, remember these individuals.

Our prayers, thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Lewis Family.
