Dear Mr. De Ladurantey,

My name is Erick C # # # # # # a from second Increment, forth platoon, Devil Pup graduate year of 2015. I would just like to say that the program was an amazing experience. I will not forget it. It will be a part of me for as long as I live. It has taught me leadership, courage, bravery, and brotherhood. They have squared me away, taught me manners, taught me how to be a team, a family. I will take what i've learned and continue being a devil pup, growing through challenge and continue leading by example. Thank you again for giving me this opportunity. I pray that this program continues for years to come because America needs Devil Pups.

Sincerely,
Erick C.

Subject: A Long Needed Update

Good Afternoon Sir,

I regret it has been so long, since the last time we spoke and that I had thanked you for your letter of recommendation for the NROTC scholarship. This summer I graduated from Marine Officer Candidate School and I believe that without your letter I would have never gotten this great opportunity of pursuing a commission as a Marine Corps Officer.

My next step is to graduate from USC, receive a commission and TBS. All this would not be possible without the basic military discipline I learned from Devil Pups and the exposure to the military, finding out that the rigors and thrill of military life was something I would excel at. I have fond memories of the trip to Scotland and getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with the British Army Cadets there was nothing else I would have rather done.

As I look forward I am excited about the opportunities as a Marine Officer and I can’t imagine how far I have come prior to Devil Pups, where it all began.

Very Respectfully,

P # # # X. E # # # Jr.

Sir,
My experience at Devil Pups was not anything like I thought and expected it to be however; it was one of the best things I've ever done in my entire life. The challenge was exactly what I needed. It helped me grow and showed me my weaknesses and where I need to improve. I loved being trained by real Marines. They were all incredible teachers, leaders, and instructors. It was an honor to be taught by them. They did an excellent job instilling discipline and respect in us and I am extremely grateful for that. The physical challenges made me push pass my limits and I found I was able to do stuff I never felt I was capable of doing for example running the 5 miles without falling out. The camp training forced me to learn how follow orders immediately and with speed and intensity and I have carried that with me back into everyday life.

I cannot say how grateful I am for the Devil Pups. I think every kid should go through this program. I feel I came out more of a man then when I went in and I can only attribute this to the intense training which is totally worth it in the end. I believe this is the best youth program in America.
