Official page for USD's Comité México, founded in 2009 by a group of Mexican Alumni, Parents and Friends The minimum goal of $50,000 was achieved in 2015.

The Comité México was founded in 2009 by a group of Mexican Alumni, Parents and Friends. When established, the Comité México had two main objectives:
1.) To foster a bond and a relationship between the University of San Diego and its Mexican constituents, by conducting outreach efforts with the Mexican community throughout Mexico, the greater San Diego and Southern California region.

Our newest freshmen class is arriving on campus this weekend and Fall is fast approaching - which means that TORERO TUESDAY is on its way! Our annual Day of Giving, will be a 24-hour, world-wide fundraising marathon. USD will “Hang 10” on 10/10. Once again, I need your help. Last month USD celebrated Torero Tuesday, a day where our community came together to support students by making a gift to USD. Our day of giving was a 24-hour world-wide celebration and our most successful to date. Alumni, parents and friends from across the globe made 2,765 gifts for a total of $1,877,903!

Amigos del Comité México – I am looking for motivated alumni, parents and friends to serve as ambassadors for our scholarship on Torero Tuesday! What is Torero Tuesday? When is Torero Tuesday?

Torero Tuesday is on Oct. 11th and it is USD's Day of Giving. A 24-hour global fundraising event where alumni, parents, and friends unite to raise funds for student scholarships, Torero Athletics and more. YOU can make a difference by making a gift to the Comité México and/or being an ambassador. If you have the ability to do both, please do!

What do ambassadors need to do?

As an ambassador, you will be asked to post on your social media pages once the week before Torero Tuesday and at least twice on the day of. Please note that USD will send you content samples for your posts. You can either copy and paste the content provided or create your own.

The USD Day of Giving is meant to be a fun and exciting and we could really use your help to reach as many Toreros as possible! Please sign up using this online form before September 15th if you’d like to join the Torero Tuesday ambassador team.

Since endowing the Comité México Scholarship, we have been able to award 24 deserving USD students! However, there are hundreds more that need our help. Please consider helping the next generation of Mexican and Mexican-American students at USD by supporting Torero Tuesday.
