Yes, that’s right! The ACT is making some major changes starting with the April 2025 test administration. The goal of these changes is for the ACT to be shorter and more flexible. The Science section is now going to be an optional section with the main composite score coming from an average of the English, Math, and Reading sections. The test will also have 44 fewer questions with shorter English and Reading passages and more time, on average, per question.

This also means the test will remain unchanged for the Sep ‘24, Oct ‘24, Dec ‘24, and Feb ‘25 ACT administrators. Be sure to order the Test Information Release service if you take the exam in September, December, or February. You get a copy of the test and your answers to review and learn from your mistakes.
