Established on January 27, 1870, Kappa Alpha Theta was the very first Greek- letter fraternity for women. Kappa Alpha Theta is an international organization with college and alumnae chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Our chapter consists of girls with many interests and accomplishments coming from various backgrounds. Our girls are athletes, scholars, and leaders who value sisterhood, scholarship, and making the most of the college experience.

Our very own Grace McDonald received the Women of Impact award here at USD and we could not be more proud!
Who is a Woman of Impact? A Woman of Impact is one who lives principles of social justice. Through her work, activities, and relationships she supports others in finding a voice, developing skills for transformation and understanding who they are called to be. Her community is not merely a place in which she exists; it is a place she actively improves.

Kappa Alpha Theta is proud to recognize ten outstanding faculty members for their contributions to colleges and universities where Theta chapters are present. Our chapter (Eta Iota) is honored that our nominee, Greg Ghio, was chosen among a pool of distinguished professors to receive this award. "Ghio’s public speaking course is as much about developing your own voice as it is engaging with culturally relevant topics. We utilize our college years to develop as leading women; Ghio values what we have to say and encourages us to voice our opinions in every situation—whether it’s in his classroom or out in the world."

Senior Spotlights!! After graduation, Kendall Higgins will be moving back to Denver, Colorado! Caitlin Fogarty will be working full time as the Media Relations Coordinator at the PR firm, Alternative Strategies! Claire Demarco will be going to Paris, France to pursue photography and film! Maggie Watson is moving to San Francisco to work for the accounting firm Frank, Rimerman! Congrats to all of you!!
