Associated Students (AS) is hosting a new leadership initiative for first-year students. The First-Year Leadership Initiative (FLI) will consist of leadership workshops, professional development, and presentations from various campus departments. FLI will help first-year students develop skills in leadership and professionalism that will help them become more involved on campus. Meetings will be every Wednesday at 11am starting October 8th. So I'm in the library listening to a girl talk about how she wasn't very included in past ASU meetings and past events that our community has held, most likely due to the fact that she was not black. Along with my high hopes for this great org, I truly hope that we focus on the inclusion of other racial groups throughout this new year and attempt to branch out to the rest of our campus. I cannot wait to see everyone's faces tomorrow with the eagerness to do work for our university
