Math doesn’t always happen on paper. 🌱

Today we used sticks, yarn, and a little teamwork to explore perimeter, measuring the distance around a space while learning through movement and hands-on discovery.

Learning feels different when you can see it, touch it, and build it 🌳📚🩵

We learned about the fungal life cycle, spores, mycelium, decomposition, and the important role fungi play in healthy soil and ecosystems.

Then, our students turned what they learned into something they could see, create, and take home 🌱🩵

Science becomes meaningful when children can connect what they learn to the living world around them.

Hello beautiful families 😊

I wanted to introduce our new little learning space to the local homeschool community! 🩵

After years of teaching and working with children, we’re so excited to have our SoCal Academy Enrichment Center open in the La Mesa/San Carlos area!

We offer small-group classes in science, math, chess, creativity, yoga & mindfulness, all in a warm and welcoming environment where children can learn in their own way. 🌱

And our Outdoor Academy is still going strong! 🌿 We continue supporting homeschool families through our outdoor program.

If you’re in La Mesa, San Carlos, Santee, El Cajon, or nearby, come see what we’ve created! Fall enrollment is now open. 🎉

We’re so excited to keep growing alongside our homeschool community and supporting families in different ways throughout their homeschool journey ✨🩵

A little look inside our Enrichment Center 🩵

We’ve been working on this space with so much love, thinking about all the little moments of learning, curiosity, creativity, and fun that will happen here.

We’re so happy to finally share this little space with you ✨📚🌱

So much love, work, and a few late nights went into creating this little space ✨🩵

From choosing every little detail to finally seeing children walk through the doors…

It’s been a dream to watch it come to life.

Chapter II: Behind the Dream 🌿✨

I’ve been wanting to share this for a while, but I honestly didn’t know where to begin🥹

So I thought… why not start at the beginning?

What started with our Outdoor Academy has been growing into something we’ve dreamed about for a long time.

A new space.
A new chapter.
And a dream that is finally becoming real.

This week, I’m going to share the story behind it all, little by little 😊

Welcome to Chapter I 📚✨🩵

I highly recommend activities like this because, with practice and repetition, children can gradually build their ability to stay focused for longer periods, develop patience, and practice mindfulness. All while learning through play!
