With profound sorrow, the University of San Diego joins the global Catholic community in mourning the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis. A shepherd of compassion, humility and justice, Pope Francis' papacy inspired countless lives — including those within our Torero family — by encouraging us to live with greater empathy and faith.
“We at USD are grateful to Pope Francis for his leadership, his wisdom, his servant’s heart, his deep compassion and his profound faith. He has truly led with love — and will continue to be an inspiration to USD, and to Catholics around the world.” — USD President James T. Harris III, DEd

Our hearts are heavy as we watch the devastation from the wildfires in Los Angeles continue to grow. We are grateful to the firefighters, first responders and volunteers who are working day and night on the frontlines, helping people get the support they need. We pray that they are surrounded with protection as they continue their work.
We know that many of our Toreros have been impacted by these fires or know of people who have been affected. Yesterday, the university sent an email to students with a list of resources available to support them. Please be sure to look for this email and utilize these resources.

Today, our university community, partners, and friends joined us to celebrate the establishment of the Center for Embodied Equity and Neurodiversity (CEEN). 🎉👏 This launch event marks a milestone occasion, and we are incredibly thankful to our friends at San Diego Foundation for their generous gift that has helped make our center a reality.
CEEN will equip educators, child-serving professionals, and caregivers with the support, training, and resources needed to provide inclusive environments where neurodiverse learners are valued and celebrated.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to honor the contributions and bravery of our nation's veterans who selflessly fought to protect our freedoms through unwavering service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸
SOLES continues to thank our veterans and active duty service members for their courage and commitment to our country, and we are proud to share that our Tele-Mental Health Training Clinic has received a $2.5 million grant to provide free telemental health services to military personnel, veterans, and their families in a safe and supportive environment.
