We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Owen, our Vice President, talking about his time spent in Europe.

"I traveled to France, Switzerland, Monaco, and Spain in June this year. I embarked on this journey because there are many places that I want to travel to. I was inspired to go see these well-known nations of Western Europe because of their cultures, history, and landmarks.

One highlight of my trip was spontaneously going to get fondue in Geneva, Switzerland with another guy staying at this hostel as me. It was cool connecting with him because he was from San Diego! Another highlight was meeting up with one of my roommates from this past semester who lives in Paris, as well as our other friend from Paris who also studied at SDSU last semester.

I love traveling because I like experiencing the cultures of people. Trying out the local food, listening to the popular local music, and seeing the beautiful architecture and nature of a certain place are all reasons why I love to travel.

I hope that all IB Society members get to travel to the places on their bucket lists. If you ever need tips for your travels, including how to budget and where to go, feel free to reach out!"

We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Shreya, our Vice President from last year, and one of our most committed members, talking about her time spent in India.

"I went to India at the beginning of summer to see my cousins and grandparents who I haven't seen in five years! I'm just two weeks I attended so many weddings of cousins I didn't even know I had, took a trip with my aunts to the mountains where we visited a lot of historical places, and got to meet my nephew who was born last year!

I love to travel because I love meeting new people and learning about their way of life. It gives me a new perspective, and I can implement those teachings into my own life.

Be respectful to a country's customs and traditions and do your own research before listening to stereotypes. Traveling is an amazing way to meet new people and learn new things, so keep an open mind."

We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Jack, our VP of Public Relations, talking about his time spent in abroad.

"My friend and I travelled from Stockholm to Rome over the course of two weeks. On the way we also stopped in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. We were inspired to do it because we thought it might be our last summer during college where had enough time to go on a big trip together.

There were so many highlights over the course of our trip. Seeing the Alps in Switzerland was incredible, and going to the Coliseum in Rome was also a breathtaking experience. We even got to take a tour through the canals of Amsterdam, which was absolutely amazing and gave me a new perspective of the city.

I love to travel because it helps to put into perspective the great things I have in everyday life at home. It also helps me experience things that I would never get to experience in San Diego. Reading and looking at pictures of places around the world will never do it justice. You have to get out there and see it for yourself!"

We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Tony, our President, talking about his time spent in Europe.

"This summer I had the pleasure of traveling to Dublin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, a few cities across Croatia, and Cabasse (a small commune in the South of France). Some highlights of my trip include amazing food, immersing myself into new cultures, and exploring the world with some of my closest friends. I was even able to spend my 22nd birthday on a yacht in Croatia!

I was inspired to go on this trip because of my deep passion for traveling and exploring the many corners of the world! Traveling gives me the opportunity to expand my world view and gain insight into how people around the globe lead their daily lives. This exposure nurtured my ability to think from diverse perspectives and has significantly contributed to my problem solving skills, especially in the realm of international business.

My advice for traveling is to forget that you are not a local and be open to doing whatever the locals are up to. Each country is different, so immerse yourself and enjoy everything that these new places have to offer. If you have the chance to travel anywhere, take it! Even if it's just a day-trip out of your city, it'll be worthwhile. If you want any recommendations for the places I've visited, feel free to DM or ask me in person!"

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our President: Tony Farrell

"I joined the IB Society in Fall 2022 in the hopes of meeting other business students that were driven and that would inspire me to push myself. The IB Society has provided me with more than I could have ever asked for. From professional help to lifelong connections, this club has truly had it all.

I chose my position because I truly believe that the IB Society is an amazing club that I want to grow and have others benefit from as much as I have. Therefore, my goals for this year are to grow the IB Society community and further build the club into one that instills pride into its members.

I'm looking forward to an amazing year with tons of both returning and new members. I can't wait to be your president!"

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our Vice President: Owen Gilgun

"I became a member of the IB Society in Fall 2021 because I wanted to connect with other International Business Majors as well as enhance my professional profile. IB Society has taught me how to be more professional, but has also helped me meet many people from different backgrounds!

I chose to run for Vice President because I feel like my experience in the club and on the exec board has given me insight on how to be a good leader.

This year, I want to help grow the club, host great guest speakers, and have a lot of fun! Can't wait until the first meeting in the fall!"

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our VP of Marketing: Cole Zeutzius

"When I went to my first IB Society meeting in Fall of 2022 as a first-year, I was looking to meet new people in a brand new environment, and I was welcomed in and supported from the very start. I knew that the IB Society would be a perfect place to connect with my peers while learning about my interests.

In the IB Society I have met a lot of my closest friends and made a lot of my favorite memories. I have also spent much of my time so far in the IB Society hearing from guest speakers and top business professionals while developing my skills in many areas that are essential for success in the business world, from resume building to invaluable networking opportunities.

I chose my position because I am interested both in pursuing marketing as a career and expanding the membership and influence of this organization. My goals for this upcoming school year are to promote the IB Society to the best of my abilities and provide a welcoming space for current members and new members alike. I want to help make the IB Society as rewarding for our members as it has been for me in my time being involved in the club.

I look forward to a great year for all of us!"

06/18/2023

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our VP of Finance: Joshua Williams

"I joined the IB Society in Fall 2022 because I wanted to join a community of goal-driven, kind, and fun people to be involved with on campus. Since joining, the IB Society has helped me develop as a young professional and has opened my eyes to the different areas of the business world and the ways they intersect with different cultures.

I chose my executive position as VP of Finance because I have a strong background and understanding of the field, so I feel that this is the position in which I can give the most back to the club.

One of my goals for the year is to be transparent about fees and where your money is going in order to help our members. I will also be looking to conduct successful and meaningful fundraisers for the club. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of our new members this coming fall and I am sure we will all have a great year ✌️."

06/16/2023

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our VP of Public Relations: Jack Swinson

"I originally joined the International Business Society in Spring of 2022 and rejoined in the Spring of 2023. The IB Society gave me an opportunity to meet new people that shared my major and had similar academic and career goals.

Since joining, I have gained invaluable networking skills, and I've learned the importance of having life experience to go along with professional experience as I progress through my time at SDSU. I chose my position as VP of Public Relations because I believe that I could improve my own networking skills while bringing in exciting guest speaker that our members will be excited to hear from.

My goals for this year are to help build up our membership, get interesting guest speakers, and make the IB Society an even more fun place for our members. I'm looking forward to the school year and meeting all the new members in the Fall!"

06/16/2023

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our VP of Events: Edgar Salazar

"As an International Business major, when I first became a member of the IB Society at the start of last semester, I wanted to find a group of people that shared similar interests to mine. Being in the IB Society has helped me enjoy my time at SDSU more because I can look forward to learning and connecting with new material that may otherwise not be taught in the classroom.

I decided to apply for VP of Events because I was motivated by my fellow peers who I attended the second semester retreat with. I also wanted to have a bigger role in this organization, and through this position I can contribute to the IB Society on a large scale.

For this year, I look forward to utilizing my position as a beacon for other students at SDSU to come join the IB Society in order to grow our involvements on campus and provide the best opportunities to our members. I can't wait to serve as this years VP of Events and work alongside my fellow executive team to produce the best year the IB Society has seen yet!"

06/14/2023

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our VP of Tech: Mark Thanh Nguyen

"When I joined IB Society in Fall 2020, I wanted to find friends related to my major and learn more about the professional business world. IB Society has helped my journey as a college student, allowing me to be more connected with the school, make new friends, and create a professional portfolio to get my foot in the door in the world of business.

Having been last years VP of Finance, I wanted to stay a part of the executive board to help out with former and new board members to expand the club's presence. I also have skills with technology that would allow me to be helpful with weekly meetings and managing executive documents and files.

My main goal for this year is to help my fellow board members and assist in expanding the club. I look forward to making more friends, meeting new members, and having a great time at IB Society meetings and events this upcoming school year!"
