We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Owen, our Vice President, talking about his time spent in Europe.

"I traveled to France, Switzerland, Monaco, and Spain in June this year. I embarked on this journey because there are many places that I want to travel to. I was inspired to go see these well-known nations of Western Europe because of their cultures, history, and landmarks.

One highlight of my trip was spontaneously going to get fondue in Geneva, Switzerland with another guy staying at this hostel as me. It was cool connecting with him because he was from San Diego! Another highlight was meeting up with one of my roommates from this past semester who lives in Paris, as well as our other friend from Paris who also studied at SDSU last semester.

I love traveling because I like experiencing the cultures of people. Trying out the local food, listening to the popular local music, and seeing the beautiful architecture and nature of a certain place are all reasons why I love to travel.

I hope that all IB Society members get to travel to the places on their bucket lists. If you ever need tips for your travels, including how to budget and where to go, feel free to reach out!"

We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Shreya, our Vice President from last year, and one of our most committed members, talking about her time spent in India.

"I went to India at the beginning of summer to see my cousins and grandparents who I haven't seen in five years! I'm just two weeks I attended so many weddings of cousins I didn't even know I had, took a trip with my aunts to the mountains where we visited a lot of historical places, and got to meet my nephew who was born last year!

I love to travel because I love meeting new people and learning about their way of life. It gives me a new perspective, and I can implement those teachings into my own life.

Be respectful to a country's customs and traditions and do your own research before listening to stereotypes. Traveling is an amazing way to meet new people and learn new things, so keep an open mind."

We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Jack, our VP of Public Relations, talking about his time spent in abroad.

"My friend and I travelled from Stockholm to Rome over the course of two weeks. On the way we also stopped in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. We were inspired to do it because we thought it might be our last summer during college where had enough time to go on a big trip together.

There were so many highlights over the course of our trip. Seeing the Alps in Switzerland was incredible, and going to the Coliseum in Rome was also a breathtaking experience. We even got to take a tour through the canals of Amsterdam, which was absolutely amazing and gave me a new perspective of the city.

I love to travel because it helps to put into perspective the great things I have in everyday life at home. It also helps me experience things that I would never get to experience in San Diego. Reading and looking at pictures of places around the world will never do it justice. You have to get out there and see it for yourself!"

We in the IB Society have spent our summers' exploring the world!

Here is Tony, our President, talking about his time spent in Europe.

"This summer I had the pleasure of traveling to Dublin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, a few cities across Croatia, and Cabasse (a small commune in the South of France). Some highlights of my trip include amazing food, immersing myself into new cultures, and exploring the world with some of my closest friends. I was even able to spend my 22nd birthday on a yacht in Croatia!

I was inspired to go on this trip because of my deep passion for traveling and exploring the many corners of the world! Traveling gives me the opportunity to expand my world view and gain insight into how people around the globe lead their daily lives. This exposure nurtured my ability to think from diverse perspectives and has significantly contributed to my problem solving skills, especially in the realm of international business.

My advice for traveling is to forget that you are not a local and be open to doing whatever the locals are up to. Each country is different, so immerse yourself and enjoy everything that these new places have to offer. If you have the chance to travel anywhere, take it! Even if it's just a day-trip out of your city, it'll be worthwhile. If you want any recommendations for the places I've visited, feel free to DM or ask me in person!"

MEET THE IB SOCIETY 2023-2024 EXEC TEAM 🎉

Introducing our President: Tony Farrell

"I joined the IB Society in Fall 2022 in the hopes of meeting other business students that were driven and that would inspire me to push myself. The IB Society has provided me with more than I could have ever asked for. From professional help to lifelong connections, this club has truly had it all.

I chose my position because I truly believe that the IB Society is an amazing club that I want to grow and have others benefit from as much as I have. Therefore, my goals for this year are to grow the IB Society community and further build the club into one that instills pride into its members.

I'm looking forward to an amazing year with tons of both returning and new members. I can't wait to be your president!"
