Design Build Studio The design/build studio gives students the opportunity to realize designs at full scale in the real world.
Ideas are developed collaboratively with the knowledge that construction will follow. The experience of actualizing designs in the real world gives the student the satisfaction that only a built project can give. Working with non-profit and/or community groups the Design/Build studio is an outreach program that involves the school and the students with the surrounding community.

NSAD students designed and built four 120 sq. ft. classrooms framing a central space to be shaded with canvas or maybe something else (later project) for the teaching of graphic arts to kids at risk in the hood

NSAD students began with foundations in the fall of 2013 and, working 4 hour shifts twice a week were able to complete this project by the end of spring quarter.

The Focus Project needed some improvements in their backyard children's play area. Our students built a patio cover and formed and poured a retaining wall.
