Healthy Boundaries & Relationships with Dr. Sunny Kleo

As girls enter puberty, many begin struggling with friendships, people-pleasing, fitting in, and trusting their inner voice.

At My First Moon Camp, we believe girls deserve safe, supportive, and empowering spaces to learn about boundaries, friendships, emotions, and body autonomy during these important growing years.

We are so excited to officially welcome Dr. Sunny Kleo as one of our guest facilitators this summer 🌕

Dr. Sunny Kleo is a British-Indian educator and researcher with over 20 years of experience working with youth. She holds a PhD from Oxford focused on young people’s life choices, and her work has been featured at Harvard and on the BBC.

Dr. Sunny will be guiding a special workshop on Thursday, July 16th (Day 4 of camp) for the girls attending My First Moon Camp.

Her workshop will focus on:

🌷 Healthy friendships
🌷 Safe boundaries
🌷 Body autonomy & consent
🌷 Trusting intuition
🌷 Emotional awareness
🌷 Learning how to say “no” with confidence

This is one of the most important conversations we can have with girls during this stage of life.

My First Moon Camp is a nature-based empowerment camp for girls ages 8–12, designed to support them emotionally, physically, and socially through this important transition.

Throughout the week, girls will explore:
🌕 Body literacy
🌕 Menstrual cycle education
🌕 Emotional awareness
🌕 Creativity & ritual
🌕 Confidence & self-expression
🌕 Mother-daughter connection
🌕 Nature, movement, and sisterhood

Spots are intentionally limited to create a more intimate and meaningful experience.

KidWings Nature School is looking for a Summer Camp Lead Counselor for our outdoor nature-based camps this summer!

We are looking for someone who:
✨ Has at least 1 year of experience working with children
✨ Has experience leading groups of children ages 4–10
✨ Is warm, responsible, energetic, and emotionally aware
✨ Feels confident leading outdoor activities and group routines
✨ Is comfortable working fully outdoors in different weather conditions
✨ Loves nature, creativity, play, and connection
✨ Speaks both English & Spanish
✨ Can commit consistently from June 29th to August 6th
✨ Has strong communication and leadership skills
✨ Can maintain safety, boundaries, and group management with calm professionalism

Position Details:
📍 Multiple outdoor locations around Central San Diego
📅 June 29 – August 6, 2026
🕘 Monday–Thursday | 9:00 AM – 1:45 PM
💰 $25/hour

Training Process:
• One required unpaid observation day
• Paid training days before camp begins

Teen Leadership Mentor Program
Ages 13–17 | Homeschool Students

Are you a homeschooler looking for a meaningful way to complete your community service or experiential learning hours?

Join our Teen Volunteer & Leadership Mentor Program at KidWings! Support children in nature-based education, practice leadership, and grow in a fun outdoor environment.

📅 Schedule Options
Monday through Friday
Choose one day per week or as many as you like

Hours:
9:30 am – 2:30 pm
or 11:00 am – 2:30 pm

✨ Fridays are Spanish in Nature (bilingual English + Spanish volunteers encouraged).

📌 Mentor Role
Assist teachers during outdoor play, art, storytelling, and nature walks.
Help set up and clean up activities.
Be a positive role model for younger children.
Encourage Spanish language use on Fridays.

✔️ Requirements
Ages 13–17, homeschool students.
Positive, responsible, and eager to learn.
Parent/guardian consent form signed.

🎁 Benefits
Certificate of Community Service / Educational Hours.
Letter of Recommendation.
Leadership + teamwork skills for future college/job applications.
Connection with nature and mentoring experience.
