We are offering a series of Art Saturdays – in-person, all-day opportunities for all teachers, current students, interested parents - that explore a particular artistic activity from early childhood through the grades with a foundational beginning through Kingdom of Childhood lectures. There are three of these planned in LA and three in San Diego with a November 9 event for both programs combined at Waldorf School of Orange County! The focus for this day will be eurythmy, for which they have a good space too. It's supported by weekly Mentoring Mondays with an experienced teacher online for an hour to answer questions.

We are offering a Practical Support Program, five monthly afternoon sessions on basic classroom planning and management for new teachers who have little or no Waldorf education background. These online afternoons on Tuesdays, 1-2:30 pm, will have a substantial introduction in a 5-hour online event on August 9.

The San Diego Campus of The Waldorf Institute of Southern California came about because a group of parents at the Waldorf School in San Diego wanted to have an opportunity for Waldorf teacher education in San Diego and not have to drive to Los Angeles. They invited the Los Angeles directors to a meeting and Jacqueline Develle, (current co-director) happened to attend the meeting and before we knew it a small satellite part-time program began.
Classes were small and we met in a variety of places. Gradually, the program grew into a full program and we graduated our first class of students in 2005.
Our program is now housed at the Waldorf School of San Diego lower campus and we run a part-time teacher certification program. We believe strongly in transforming the lives of children through adult education.
Become the teacher that inspires the next generation of young people--we hold frequent Open Houses. Check our website or reach out and schedule a visit to see what it is all about.
