We hope to see you tomorrow morning for our First Family Spirit Assembly!

Families are encouraged to join their child for the run club (7:30 a.m.) and the spirit assembly immediately after (7:45 a.m. - 8:10 a.m.). Hot Bevs will be parked outside the school, available for coffee and tea orders before & after the assembly.

Once the assembly concludes, please exit immediately and refrain from going to classrooms. We thank you in advance for your understanding about the importance of getting our learning day started!

Invite your family and friends for our first dine-out fundraiser of the school year! Come dressed in green or in Marvin spirit gear and be entered to win a $50 Uber Eats card. Be sure to mention you're from Marvin Elementary when ordering

The SDSU Men's soccer season is underway! The team is currently ranked 18th in the country and SDSU would love to have you out to watch a game. All games on the Sports Deck at SDSU are free admission and have concessions for many of the remaining games. Parking on campus can be purchased by the hour and games usually last about 2 hours.

We invite you to join us for this special occasion on Wednesday, September 20th. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate your child's educational journey with us. This event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with two presentations per classroom (5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.).

Please note.... this is an adult only event. Childcare will be provided in our auditorium for families in need (movie).

Back to School Night is more than just a school event; it's a chance for us to foster a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and students. - Curriculum Overview: Gain insight into our curriculum, teaching methods, and educational goals for the year. You'll learn about the subjects your child will study and the skills they'll develop.
- Parent-Teacher Interaction: Connect with fellow parents, share experiences, and build a supportive community. It's a great opportunity to network with other families who share similar educational journeys.
- Q&A Session: We encourage you to bring any questions you might have. Our teachers and staff will be available to address your queries and provide guidance.

Your participation in Back to School Night will strengthen the partnership between home and school, which is essential for your child's success. Together, we can create a positive and nurturing environment for them to thrive academically and socially and make this school year a remarkable one.

Mustang Families,
On Monday, September 11th the City of San Diego will be holding a public meeting to address noise concerns raised by a few surrounding homes that share a fence line with our joint use field. This is mainly related to public (afterschool) hours. However,
we currently receive noise complaints from a few neighbors regarding our jog-a-thon, movie night, and running club.
If available, I would love for you to join me to engage in discussions and provide input.

REMINDER:
Tomorrow is Picture Day! If students are not photographed tomorrow, make-up picture day is Tuesday, September 19th.

Reminder….. all students will be dismissed from school at 12:15pm today!

The last sets of Back to School packets were sent home with students today. These packets include the name plates for families that utilize our car pickup line. We ask for your support in helping us expedite our pickup process by displaying these on your dashboard at pickup. 😊

Out of abundance of caution, our district has postponed the first day of school to Tuesday, August 22nd (see attached). A communication will be sent out shortly!
Our staff has been hard at work preparing our site and we look forward to welcoming our community on Tuesday. Stay safe!!
