We're planning our classes for the fall! On tap are Honors Sociology 101 (TTh 9:35-11) with Dr. Sarah Pitcher and Dr. Marilyn Espitia and Honors English 101 (TTh 11:10-12:35) with Professor Hector Martinez and Dr. Kelly Mayhew. Both classes will be taught remotely in real-time to make sure students get the full Honors small-class, team-taught, supportive environment. This is our Honors Core and we encourage students to take the classes together. Our faculty for these special courses are the Honors Program Coordinators. There's no application or minimum GPA--just a willingness to be challenged and engaged! Need more information? Email us! [email protected]

Check out the Honors Program at City College in the fall! We're an excellent way for students to get prepared to transfer to 4-year universities and be successful. We also have a lot of transfer agreements with places like UCLA, UC Irvine, Smith College, Williams College, and more. You can email me, Dr. Kelly Mayhew, at [email protected]. I'm one of the Honors Program coordinators and an Honors professor. We'll be offering the Honors Core this fall 2020--it's Honors English 101 and Honors Sociology 101 in team-taught and linked classes to support our students. We recognize that these are uncertain times and so we want to assure you that our high quality program is here to support our students in what ever format the classes are offered in. We are open access and a perfect way for students to discover their inner scholar and to figure out what they want to do in life. Contact me for more info!

There's still room in the Honors Core at City College this fall! Classes start on Monday, August 19th! Honors English 101 is pretty full but seats are available in Honors Sociology 101! We prefer students to enroll in both classes, but if you can only take one, take it--especially the incredible Honors Sociology 101 course on MW 11:10-12:35. Both classes are team-taught and share orientations. You'll get 6 units of Honors credit, which will help you immensely on your transfer applications. Contact [email protected] or call 619-388-3512 for more information!
